Not sure if anyone will still recognize me at all after such a long absent from the community. I still work on a couple of my game using T2D but haven't gotten much far due to my day job consuming most if not all of my time. Hopefully, I can get something done with T2D and show to the community sometime soon.
The most change that happen to me was working with Kiragames. I worked with Kiragames about 3 years ago starting as a consultant, then Business Development manager and now COO. I wouldn't be surprise if you haven't heard of Kiragames before but I think most of you might have already played or heard of Unblock Me. Kiragames is an independent company based in Thailand and our only game right now is Unblock Me. Unblock Me is a game available on the iOS AppStore, Google Play and HTML5 which was released in 2009 and got most downloaded app that year. In 2012 Apple also annouched that Unblock Me was the #17 most downloaded application of all-time from the US AppStore.
You can actually read the full write up on how Unblock Me became Unblock Me from this link here. (http://gamesauce.org/news/2013/05/15/indie-showcase-kiragames-unblock-me/)

I still have some chance of working with the coding side of stuff at Kiragames but most of my work now is usually working with partners and finding ways we can drive our business. I think the opportunity was really great for me to talk with many people and work with many new awesome business partners. I don't think I would ever have the chance to do this if I was still working alone at my own company (Mayan Games). I was able to push many publishing deals for Unblock Me, a few successful ones and a few not so successful. But overall, I think this one of the best learning experience I got, its about trusting your instinct and not trusting what people say. When you work small, your surrounded by many small companies and indies trying to create great games but when you work with bigger companies it's about profit since there's many different business people in the process and all of them have to do their work.
I'll be sharing my experience at Casual Connect Asia during May 21-23 on what I think contribute to the success of Unblock Me. My speak at the event will be on "Key Point for Indie Success Globally". So if anyone is interested to meetup at Singapore please let me know. It's always fun to meet and talk with new people.
Thanks!!
