Seven years ago.. (seems like a life time) I started out with big plans.. it didnt take long for those plans to be cut down to size. Starting out with Torque 1.3 then upgrading to 1.4 and with the help of Noolness, a small demo was created which became the basis of a small game put on xna creators club for the xbox Live.

At that time Torque3D was in Beta, and I got suckered in with the hype at that time. "Look at this neat video of a wetness shader, Look at this pretty video of advance lighting, pay no attention to the man behind the curtain." So, I came back to Torque.

Its been a love hate relationship since then, as it seems it always is with Torque, but with the help of this great community, and lots of therapy things are finally reaching the finish line.

And with that,I want to announce that a demo has been create of ValhyreFPS and I need the communitiy's help. You can download the demo at Valhyre.org

While my artwork for the character models isnt finalized, I need help testing the stability and network ability of the system. Basically, I need to know if it runs on many different systems, and how well it runs. Any game effecting issues, crashes, and playability.
And while the artwork is still in progress I need to know if there are any missing materials. you can post any feed back here. on the community forums at www.valhyre.org or on facebook

FaceBook

edit::

The download is 820MB.. I know that puts some people off. but once you download this portion, any further patches I do during the testing process should be less than 100MB

edit.. nvm pic didnt turn out right .. will post pics later

Donald, congrats on getting this far! How big is that bad boy, btw? I'm on severely limited bandwidth here - to the point where I need to resize images and convert them to .jpg just to lower my usage. But I'd like to give this a run and report for you.

Actually Richard, I believe that could be Mr. Acaster himself. Am I wrong?

Edit: Apologies for the extra post. I'm very tired and I'm not running on all cylinders right now.

I think it's just the stereotypical indie developer.

Downloading. Will be glad to report back on performance / stability.

Congrats on getting near the finish line. Myself, I'm still trying to figure out what race I want to run in. Too many choices, and nothing obvious as a potential winner.

@Dan, It's 813 megs.

Felix's Dream
It took him over 30 years to achieve his dream. Seven years does not sound so bad.

Downloading now! You should post pics soon. You really need to sell your work to the community - esp. when you desire our help.

The file size doesn't put me off as much as the Facebook link does. Yeck!
I sooner wait the 10 hours to Download your demo than even attempt to open another FB page. :)

@scott, thats why I included the community site and here as well.

Game development sucks, but there's nothing else I'd rather do.
