IPS Pro dev blog 2 delays and troubles

Hello everybody! I know theres not much time between my blogs, but I just feel like there is so much I need to tell you!
This blog today wont feature alot of images it is mostly an informative blog. So I recommend that you keep reading even tho it might be boring! :)
In 1 week, I will begin in the university where I will study computer science for the next 3 years, and then write a candidate in computer science with focus on gaming development which will last for another 2 years.
So, as I begin on this great new adventure, I will have less time to spend on the IPS Pro. Therefore a later release date!
I was actually hoping to be able to release it before I started, but new ideas and goals keep popping up on my list and I am already busy completing the ones I am working on already.
There is alot of unexpected delays, like the Radius Mesh Emitter. What it does is, it works like the MeshEmitter, but instead of emitting on the whole mesh, it only emits on face in a radius around a local coordinate point.
I had it partially working, I could throw fireballs at my tower and set it on fire at the places it got hit instead of setting the whole tower on fire. But I only had it working on the cases:
1 vertices inside of the sphere 2 vertices inside of the sphere 3 vertices inside of the sphere There is 2 more cases to consider:
The sphere is inside the 3 vertices. The sphere is outside the 3 vertices but intersects one of the sides. And you wouldn't believe me if I told you how confusing those last two are.
It is beginning to come together but there is still some way to go.
And that is just that one emitter, I still need 4 more emitters 4 more particle types several bugfixes and optimizations.
And I plan to take on implementing the Particle System that Unreal Engine 4 uses.
There is still a long way to go if I were to release it all in one package.
Therefore I have revised my business strategy a bit. It seems like it would be favorable for all parties if I were to either release the IPS Pro as parts with 4-5 new features in each.
Or as standalone products.
So if you don't need the GroundEmitter but were very interested in the RadiusMeshEmitter you could just buy the GroundEmitter and save some money.
And then make an optional purchase, a full featured IPS Pro license which is a one time purchase but will grant access to all the particle emitters aswell as early access to the updates and beta builds.
There are several reasons I want to split the release up in smaller chunks:
You don't have to wait for months for a release You don't have to pay for stuff you wont use (Like the Unreal Engine 4 particle system, it is PhysX only and maybe you only use bullet or don't use physics at all) I can get feedback on smaller chunks of the IPS Pro instead of the whole package all at once. It is a lot of code which is prone to errors so being able to bugfix few emitters at a time would be a lot easier for me to handle. I can earn some early money to support my education! :)
So I'm very much considering going with the second option as it still leaves the 'single purchase' option open.
This business model and the legal issues with having a third party in America while I live in Denmark is one of the reasons that I think the IPS Pro will be released through private channels rather than the GG store.
So I have already begun preparing FuzzyVoidStudio.com for the release of the IPS Pro.
I don't think I have anymore information for you at this time! If there is any questions or feedback please drop a comment below or contact me at lukaspj@fuzzyvoidstudio.com
You can also like my facebook page: FuzzyVoidStudio which will have access to some screenshots and development info that I might not push out to the GG forums for various reasons.
Thanks for reading and thanks for all of your support!
