Ron, maybe raise the ambient up a little (or even to halfway or so) for screenshots, all that vegetation casting all of those shadows does make it a little difficult to see the details.

It does look good though.

Beautiful stuff, Ron! I can't wait to see such high quality models using Sahara. Trees covered in procedural snow.. - sounds really really cool! :)

With your models, a complete seasons system would be relatively easy to script in Torque 3D 1.2.

Thanks for the shout-out! :)

I can almost feel the mosquitos biting. Vines and canopy trees are a huge +. Thanks Ron.

However as Steve said, we can't see the trees for the forest.

Sorry guys, I forget that it is a pretty dense and there are many many shadows. Next time I will try and lighten things up a little bit. I have to remember that my display tends to be a bit 'brighter' than the average monitor too. Then again, it was sort of the point of this type of jungle, to be able to actually make it so dense that the sun could get blotted out in spots. Not so good though for static screenshots....way cool though when your character is running around :-)

@Ron - Don't apologise mate. These screens look fantastic. Shadows and all. In fact, I live in Brisbane and it's a short bike ride to places that look very much like this. If I was to really criticise these shots I'd say it's too bright and sunny. But you get those days here too.

I think what would compliment these screenies well would be a couple of captures of static trees in the shapes editor. Little thumbnails would do the job nicely.

Can't wait for this pack by the way.

Ron @ Another very detailed looking pack, can't wait to see it in action.

And great news on purchase of Sahara, its a small yet very powerful add-on. Can't wait to see it working on those conifer forests!

W00t it's April! Where are my bloody palm trees Ron? :P

Also, I was just wondering (and wanted to slip this in prior to release) if you have any flowering plants included in this pack, or plan to?

There's a lot of Bougainvillea near where I live in Brisbane (subtropical), but I'm not sure if it's an introduced plant or not. In any case, there's usually a lot of red in rainforest flowers. Just a suggestion/request. I can always create my own content, but thought this might appeal to you.

@Dan.... I have been wondering the same. I submitted the pack last week for review so I am hoping it pops up on the store this week. I know many of the garage games team is out covering developer conferences and such (It is that time of year). So be patient, it is 'in the cue' and Garage Games needs to be at these gatherings and conferences. It's important to the survival of the engines and to expand the community.

As for the flower question. I am working on that but it will not be in this first release. I just could not come up with a way to make them look right....YET. Flowering plants are in the works and as soon as I come up with a technique that I like I will upgrade. Remember, all of my packs are living documents. I will keep tweeking and improving as my skills progress. And everyone that purchases the packs gets the updates at no extra cost. In fact I also submitted the >FBX upgrade for the conifer pack and that has not posted yet either. Hang in there and THANK YOU for the suggestions. In fact keep them coming!

Awesome! Thanks for the update Ron. I couldn't agree more with the statements re developer conferences etc.. I mean, we are the industry, after all. I can wait for a while yet. I'm certainly not the kind of person to rush anything (despite my tongue-in-cheek statements to the contrary).

I already have the conifer pack, so I know the kind of care you put into your packs. I was especially impressed with the documentation you provided. I almost expected a holographic presenter to sit me down to a PowerPoint presentation!

As an aside, I may use MonsterPacks' flower power environment pack to solve the "flower issue" for now. Or maybe even DexSoft's flower pack. It won't be an issue. Having said that though, I'd still grab any update you release. Continuity and all that.

If I think of anything that may help or otherwise add to your content pipeline I'll let you know. For now I just had the "I want lots of colour in my project" subect at the front of my mind. I may attempt to create something if I get the chance, but honestly I have so many things on my to-do list that I can't see that happening for a while yet. Anyway thanks for the reply and the update. Always good to see the road ahead.
