WIP Basic Level Testing

by John E. Nelson · 01/19/2011 (5:37 am) · 7 comments

I am posting a video of some work in progress. It is of basic level testing.
The game engine is the Torque 3D engine, and it is a build just for level building I use.
The NPC's are in an inactive state since this is just testing the maneuverability and clearance of the player in a crowded level. So basically I am looking for hang points, and the clearance to be able to interact with the NPC's in dialog mode.
This particular room of the level is of the Torus Computer room where massive main frames scan every single bit of information on the internet, cell phones, and television.
The level is quite massive and is all part of the first chapter of the story.

Daniel, I believe all the npc's are made with Evolver.com but the knight style model at the end looks custom made.

Heres a blog about his models from evolver.

I have some Evolver models for close up characters that you talk to and interact with.
There are others which are nameless badguys, they were custom built models.
This video is only one room, and I have dozens on this level.

Like it John. You've worked on your detail very nicely indeed. Keep up the good work.

I like what you've done thus far.
The Knight at the end.. I was expecting him to swat a fly with his sword because of the way he was looking around. No house-fly?

Anyways, just wanted to show thumbs up =)

Thats an Enforcer at the end of the video, and that's one of his idle animations when he's guarding an area. They are like super riot police, and maintain order.
Any civilians step out of line they beat them to a pulp.
So its best to avoid a large number of them since they are armored.
As a hero you find ways around them if possible, since taking them head on is not a good idea. Their health and armor levels are higher than a normal person.
