I think I have the TGE version crashing issue narrowed down to 4 source additions, but as I continue to patch out tests, I still play with porting to T3D. It is one touchy beast. TGE to me is like a tank. You made mistakes it'd keep trucking along. T3D crashes very often on me, and I have to figure out what it's deal is. If T3D proves to be stable enough for its own world, I will probably name the TGE version FoHO Lite, and the T3D version FoHO Advanced. I "think". Haven't came up with any other better names.

I got some more code ported over and got the code working for cloth materials and mesh hiding so that it uses the same directory structure as TGE. I'd say 95% of the python and scripts are the same as the TGE version, so helps moving forward with two different engines. But again, if T3D performance works well on the lower end cards, then won't have to worry about that two versions.

Unfortunately, the T3D kit is missing some features as well as needs AFX so as a non-coder, not totally sure what will happen there. I usually mess things up when I touch the source :)

I haven't messed with the terrains much. I am pretty picky and it takes me awhile to do terrains, so until I know T3D will work, don't want to spend all that time on it. But for now, here are some pics of the characters in T3D. Next phase I will finish porting all my code modifications and start testing client/server and hope there are no crashing. Network running always finds things that single player does not.

Lizardman-tastic ... apart from the redhead ... obviously. ;)

Nicely textured dragons, scales look good - especially on the black one.

Hope the porting goes fine. Curious on how the T3D version works or not. I'm thinking about tearing apart the code to the T3D version for my MMO. Planning a cartoon adventure MMO. Too many MMOs going in the realistic direction, besides got to have an excuse to add silliness to a MMO. :)

Thanks all.

@Steve,
I can't take credit for the texturing. The dragon and texture is from 3DRT. I just added the normal map.

At this rate you won't have a problem getting people to sign up, but I still believe you need to get some animations and quests under control/way.

Leathel also my girl and I were talking and came up with an idea of how you could implement your "magic" coming from God more.

You could basically say have a small cut scene or something to the like right after your character creation screen that showed the player having a Moses and burning bush type moment. As in you could have the player standing there and then light could come from heaven or something and God would say take this ____ (place item name there) and cast my wrath upon your enemies.

Think of the staff moses was given to turn into the snake.

If you felt you needed to tip toe around the shuving God in people's face, you wouldn't have to have God say anything like "I am that I am" or anything like that and you'd leave the player to make their own assumtion of what the voice from the clouds or bush or whater was.

Dragonfriend!

Everytime I see these dragons of yours they make me feel like paying a visit to 3DRT.
