F R E E D O M ! ! !
Hey all,
Well, first off, i'm getting married in May, 2011 to a wonderful woman I've been with for over a year now. So that's great news... and it's been an ungodly long time since my last post up here, so I have a ton of news to let everyone know. Over the last 9 years, I've been making slow progress with being a truck driver. Actually, 9 years this month is when I first started out driving for a now gone trucking company called Dick Simon out of West Valley City, UT. Well, now, I have graduated to the next phase of my life. Another trucking company yes, but this time, a company that will be getting me more off time, lets call it a mini-over-the-road gig.
Beginning Monday, Aug 9th, I begin my new journey. I have currently left Swift and moved to local dealings with Central Transport, a LTL trucking company that has a HQ here in Indianapolis, IN. I will be running from Indy to where ever they need me (500 a day average miles) such a VA or MN. I drop and hook, spend the night at that other location and head back to indy the next day. I get here, leave the truck and go home, then next day repeat. Get off weekends, and paid for holidays and off. Plus I now make $5k more dumping the old job for this new one. I'm thrilled. Life is good. Thus far...
Well, I'm fixing to release many more Ambient Sounds packs such as the one I have here on Torque Powered over at www.torquepowered.com/products/ambientsounds which is doing well in the sales, so I'm happy. I am currently working on a new site which I will make another blog about once it tests as done. Right now, I'm in the building stages of it, trying to get Pay Pal set up on the site as my cart option for now, more better options for those not liking Pay Pal will be offered later as I progress through the add-on's to the site over the next several months. All I can say about the site right now is that it's looking good on paper, we'll see how well I am able to pull it off on the actual launch of it.
What the Goals are for the new site
Well, I would like it to be as friendly as possible and available to those who use smart phones, you can surf to the site, look around, post on the forums or even order a track or pack right from your phone (which I really dont see why you would want to order a complete pack via phone but hey, the option is there on the phone if you should want to). I'm going to make the ordering process easy and via email links with passwords so you can get in any time to download your pack(s) as ordered.
Other goals for the site are still in the works, but I expect to have it up and ready by Halloween, 2010 if all goes good. I'm also planning to host ALL 13+ sound packs I've made there plus my music and free stuff including but not limited to my writings of mini/short stories, Poems and actual model/texture content, terrain packs and a lot more that I'm currently working on backstage. I have about 30 packs I really want to polish up and release exclusive to my new site, if all goes well. You know how that can change... ;)
What the future holds
Yeah, like I can tell right? uh huh. I can't see in to the future but if all works out right, I will now have more time to dedicate to my new Ambient projects, my site and my content. I feel that this is a new dawning for my talents and I've been opened a door to make a better life for myself, my family and grow out of what I used to do.
I hope this all works out, my dream is now to make quality content rather then make a gaming studio as I first began wanting. I now want to make cool content that can be used in cool engines like the Torque Family line and other engines around the world, but my main focus has always been, and will continue to me, Torque 3D/TGE/A and anything else that comes down the pike.
This is only the beginning, thanks to everyone who has supported me over the years, thanks to everyone who I have made friends with as well as for those who have bought my packs up here on the site. Expect to hear a lot more from me in the coming months once the new site launches. That's about it for now... one last thing as I close thou, my game, Beyond The Abyss I was working so hard on, I'm shelving it for a while. I feel my talents would be better off writing a mini story about it rather then trying to take on a project on my own when I don't have the talent nor the proper sized team to pull off a game of it's size.
I'll revisit the game at a later date if I find the right team to help me pull it off but for now, it's only a mini story that I'm working on. The problem was I was trying too massive of a project, like doing a Doom 3 right out of the gate, and I'm not scared to say that. I learned a lot from the project, and it was awesome to work with guys like Andrew, Mike and others who helped in the project but when you know you don't have the man power to get it done, you have to back down and wait. Patience is golden sometimes... like now.
Thanks again guys and gals for reading, I'll be back soon enough. Til then, take care, stay safe and remember to follow your dreams with all your heart and you can never go wrong. Follow your heart, not the money :)

Too massive a project and married life don't sound compatible! ;)
Congrats on getting married, (that's the end of farting in bed I'm told :\ ), congrats on a new job that gives more time off, and congrats on having good sales with your audio pack. :)
