Breakables & Platforms

Ok, slow progress on the breakable and platform code. I'm working on it, but it might take a bit longer than I expected in order to shuffle in some of the tutorials Ive been working on (Ive been asked for some info enough times to stir me into making this).

Captain Zap

Waiting for the finished Zap ship model from Derek. From there it should be an evening to put it into the game. Feels like progress! other than that, Ive been coding some mission elements (that are being turned into mission tutorials as well).

Artworks taken a bit of a break as everyone's gotten a little busy. However Ive done some models myself (more of a relaxation thing) so go and have a giggle at the bottom 4 images at:

Tutorials

Well, I get cable on wednesday, so I'm going to celebrate by releasing some of my old code and writing tutorials of different area's of the engine. Now that I'll be online a little more regularly and easily, it should be smoother going getting things from home online (rather than having to trawl things between work and home).

I've just about finished trigger tutorial, thats to complement a mission editing tutorial and a terrain editing tutorial (part of a smaller series). Ive also gotten most of the way through an altimeter tutorial, the compass tutorial, part way through a vehicles tutor.

Basically, I'm doing a small mini-series of tutorials, which fairly diverse subjects (gui controls, shape based objects, static objects, mission editing, vehicle coding etc).

Hopefully I'll nail breakables and platforms this week and be able to write up a tutorial on that in a week or two.

Sounds like quite a bit of work, but thats because it is :)) but I quite enjoy teaching others so its not really too much of a chore.

Phil.

PS: Wednesdays the big 'cable' day! whoo!
