Journal Land Pick of the Week

Gaiiden's Scroll - I was supposed to do a Monthly Sitrep this week but that kind of didn't happen - but that's okay because my journal this month captured pretty much everything I would have wanted to say anyways being that I was away so often for conferences the entire first half of the month. June, however, is shaping up to be pretty cool. Perhaps you can guess why. Regardless, I should have plenty to talk about at the end of next month - and the beginning of our 11th year in operation.

Say hello to yet two more new Journal Land citizens Christopher Loyd and Gustavef!

Project Updates

* Journal of matt_j - Shucks must have just missed this last week, matt_j has released his game "Spectre" to the iPhone App Store! Congrats!

* Digitanks Development Journal - I gotta hand it to BSVino, he's been doing a pretty nice job so far keeping his dev journal overflowing with information on Digitanks. These are substantial design/programming entries as well. Keep up the good work!

* Mark the Artist Fights the Future - I've previously mentioned how I don't like highlighting brief entries with just an image to them, but it's a bit different when the entire image was drawn, methinks. Looking good, Prinz Eugn

* Chronicles of the Hieroglyph - in addition to taking on Doxygen for his code documentation, Jason Z has made a fresh commit to the Hieroglyph Engine code repository

* Radioactive-Software - dgreen02 gives an overview on some of the recent progress he's made with Armored Warfare, promising more details later, as well as the expected eye popping screenshots. I'm such a sucker for vast open terrain

* Journal of Lethargic Programmers - cameni updates on the Outerra engine's progress, talking about the really great looking spline-based road system now implemented. I mean yea, I've seen roads on terrain plenty of times but these roads to a fabulous job of looking like they are on the terrain!

* You Gotta Squeeze Every Pixel - in addition to discussing new progress on Citizen, Staffan E starts getting into the good habit of cross-referencing his posts. Take notes, people. I personally never assume that anyone remembers anything I've previously written about.

* IfThen Software LLC - the latest newsletter announces that the first Volund preview has been released (congrats), along with regular sections from the programmer, artist's easel, and community

Development Stuffs

* Excursions into the Unknown - Mike.Popoloski creates a work around to allow the x64-version of PIX to run a managed app, which is a bug that's been bothering SlimDX users for a while now

* Beals Software's Development Journal - Programmer16 doesn't think this C# FunctionSequence is anything special, but hey - you can be the judge.

* Dungeon Fortress - Darkness is not your friend - Ashaman73 continues his series of journal articles on Procedural Quests, tackling the creation of goal chains (like collecting certain colored keys in a proper order)

Other Stuffs

* Journal of dbaumgart - come work at Gaslamp Games - drive Ferraris and have money fights!
