Weekly Community Recap March 21st - 27th

by Scott Burns · 03/29/2010 (7:51 am) · 5 comments

We've got a little bit of everything this week, some cool updates on some projects, some really great discussions, and a lot of new resources. I see that Sean Rice has returned this to reclaim his throne in the Resources section, but not without contenders for the crown. In all seriousness, Sean is just a resource making machine and the amount of resources he's added to the site in the past few weeks is amazing.

As you may have noticed, this is the last time you'll see this blog in this section. Next week you'll find it sitting in the Employee section. I've been brought on full time as QA Lead and I'll be working in the QA and Usability Lab at Full Sail University. Also, we're hiring a another tech writer for Torque to help Michael with the documentation. Check the job posting below and email Michael Perry if you're interested.

AHHH! Another great update but another thread i wish to view but can't. Can the "How To: Weapon individual Stats - Clip Size, Bullets Remaining, Projectile type, Reload Time" be reposted in the TGEA or TGE forums? maybe we should get a Script Snippets forum section going :D

Another good thread: Weapon Prediction.

Henry Todd elaborates on how the projectile hit works based on prediction, lag compensation, and some comparison with the Source engine.

@Scoob

That thread was actually a request on "how would I do this?" and not a "this is how to do this" --- it's not really a resolved answer either, just a lot of umming-and-ahhing, so you ain't missing out on anything.

There are a few weaponclip reloading resources around for TGE/A, if you have a search.

Actually I've a few old ones bookmarked:

@Ivan
Thanks!

@Novack
Thanks for posting that one. Originally I intended that one to be included but I must have closed the tab I had that thread open in and didn't realize it when I got everything together. I've added it to the OP.

@Steve
Thanks for bringing Scooby up to speed on that thread. Tying up these final loose ends at the old job has been keeping me away from the computer most of the day.

@Scooby
When it comes to clip/reload resources my personal favorite is Tim Newell's Weapon Reload Tutorial. It's the second one of the links Steve posted.
