That is looking good! :) Also the animations have a lot of character in them.
Some questions though, there are no "strafing" or "walking backwards" animations? Also, are there no LOD's? Because 10,000 triangles is a LOT.
And a final question, why the use of a 1024*1024 texture on a character with 10,000 triangles? The model looks great but the texture is a bit blurry.
It's a shame it isn't usable out of the box... :(

I suppose that that might be slightly low, but i would never release something that wasnt heavily modified if I bought a pack like this, no offence to the artist, or Dex-soft as they make great stuff but i would want to minimize having too similar a look to other games that my be released with the same thing. So the textures would be the first to go, but having a map to paint on for a start is a great idea. That of course is just my opinion.

So it appears all the animations are in a single file and NOT saved out as individual files. Is this a correct assumption?

I've got a number of things from you already, and usually the following needs to be done:
- scale model to Torque proportions
- convert textures (flip them occasionally)
- add nodes
- merge lods
- remove wheels from model (for vehicles)
- re-export
This happens every time. Why isn't it possible to put a little more effort into this? I'd pay more to not have to do this. Your art is top quality, but it's not usable out of the box. There are many people who purchase your packs to use them in Torque.
Can you do something about this in the future, please?
Edit: I agree, a texture map would be awesome to have with the models.

I really like Dexsoft's stuff, I just can't see why you guys can't take the extra mile to prepare the pack to be really ready for Torque. I've got a number of things from you already, and usually the following needs to be done:

Add more LODs please and it would be great to have more animations in this pack and SWAT soldier's. Maybe it can be single animation pack for both, i am very interesting in purchasing more animated soldiers.

I agree with Konrad. I bought some trees and flowers pack from dexsoft and it's unusable out the box. It's a pain for non artists (like me) to do that. And I think that peoples who buy your packs are not artists for most of them (I think, I can be wrong). Your work is amazing (great content for a good price range), so please continue ! If you can reduce the pain for non artists, I think you're going to sell more packs in this community (again I can be wrong)!

why are you referring to models being theirs? as far as I heard they sell other people stuff. Used couple models and they are not ready for torque.. :(

10k seems a lot of polys, i don't see where are those polys used.., maybe it's a bad screenshot ?

Also we provide native MAX format with biped so it can be greatly modified and new animation added.
For this price I think it is fair offer regarding quality.
I dont think that it will took you much time to get it right for your needs.
And it is not that we dont want to put a little more efforts and convert them to proper size or without wheels, as you said, or convert textures.
Simply we will need to hire one guy to do just that and this would rais the price significantly and we dont want to do that.
We are not converting textures simply because we know that it could be done in few secs with some batch converters like Xnview, and doubling textures will raise pack size a lot, almost double.
Also for separating wheels we simply didnt know that this is requirement for Torque.

It is very difficult to make formats which will be good for all engines. Because of that we provide so many formats, over 10, always, so people can adopt models for their needs. For Torque we are using UltimateUnwrap exporter and for collada also. Also we provide native MAX format with biped so it can be greatly modified and new animation added.

I don't mind converting textures, thats easy.
So the models are not Torque ready, they are more like a kit, some modifications, and assembly required to actually use them in Torque.

I have purchased a lot of stuff from Dex-Soft, and I have been unable to use most of it. We have to pay an artist to add collisions, and to try to seperate all the animations from a single file to multiple DSQ's.I don't mind converting textures, thats easy.

The soldier animations are more than perfect!

So from now on we will support DTS format in full power, especially characters, with DTS and DSQ file for each animation so you will have it reall dts ready

I found perfect way to extract animation sequence files from one animation file and export them like DSQ files for each animation. So from now on we will support DTS format in full power, especially characters, with DTS and DSQ file for each animation so you will have it reall dts ready

This pack is useless for torque. Too much work after purchase. A definite waste if your not the artist type. This was my first and last purchase there. Possibly even considering a charge-back since it was not as advertised.

Do you know whether the poly count on this would be good for iphone?
