Called up from the Farm Team

Some of you may have noticed during the past week or so my name turned a lovely shade of purple and you may, or not, be wondering what’s up. Well wonder no longer friends!

Starting today I’ll be coming on board as a Community Manager. In the past this job was handled solely by David Blake, in addition to his other support duties, and other employees who had the time to pitch in. This being such an awesome and active community, along with the equally active email support area, it’s become too much for one person to handle. So I've been enlisted to help out here on the forums while David tackles the email side of the house.

In the past six years I’ve been a part of this community I’ve only done two blogs, well three now, so even those of you that know me from the community probably don’t know that much about me. So I should probably fix that but I’ll pause for a screenshot first, as one can’t have a blog without a screenshot.

That screen came from Backyard Battle, the game I created with TGE 1.2 six years ago while at Full Sail. It was also the experience that began my love of Torque. In a team consisting entirely of gameplay programmers Torque was key to that project’s success.

After graduating from Full Sail with a Bachelor’s in Game Development and Design I found myself in need of a job and Uncle Sam soon provided that with a freelance gig in the simulation industry. Thanks to my experience with Torque that gig turned into a career and over the years I got to work with a young, bright eyed Michael Perry as well as help Eric Preisz put on two TIG events here in Orlando.

So now you guys know a bit more about the guy you see in the forums who probably owns more Nerf guns than any one person should.

See you in the forums!

Thanks a lot everyone. To say that I've been psyched for this week to start would be an understatement.

@DMB
Ah my first photoshopping, truly I have arrived.

@OmegaDog
I've always favored the more guns philosophy in addition to the bigger guns.

Though when it comes to boats, you're always gonna need a bigger boat.

With the move to Torque Powered rather than GarageGames, it makes more sense to have blogs be Torque-focused and allow engine comparisons, etc be forum topics. Most sites delegate posting in that manner since most do not have user blogs for their projects. If you feel that useful Torque-related content has been removed in error, contact us at moderators@torquepowered.com. We will be ushering such topics to the forums rather than in blogs as has been done in the past several years when people would post questions in blogs or resources instead of the correct place for their questions: the forums.
