As well, many fixes have been made to Face Robot.

The main purpose of the Crosswalk update is to support the Softimage Face Robot plug-in on Linux 64-bit systems.
There were also a few other important fixes thrown in for good measure.

Sorry James, I agree with Josh. ..can I ask why you are so infatuated with posting about XSI ?
#3
I don't think that is what Josh is complaining about but rather the location of the post. ( One might ask why you always seem to jump onto posts to complain when someone is talking about a 3d app other than your favorite one? Just my perception... I am not going to get into any kind of app warz... )
Even though it may belong in another area I like hearing about the latest 'Softimage' stuff and other similar things. And James certainly isn't the only one to post in the wrong forum. I don't see many complaints about people posting bug reports etc. in the T3d Resources and Code Sharing forum for example.
I just don't want to see James 'stop' posting things like this because he might not feel it is appreciated.

I post these things to help support the software I like to use and to help other people with useful information on it. I thought that would have been pretty obvious myself.
@Gerry, Thank you. I have no intention of stopping. Softimage users here at GG are a growing number and I intend to go on doing anything I can to help that number continue to grow.

Can I ask why you guys have nothing better to do then lecture people on posting etiquette?I post these things to help support the software I like to use and to help other people with useful information on it. I thought that would have been pretty obvious myself.

@James: If everyone shared this sense of "posting etiquette" there would be no need of separate forums or blog areas, could just have one nice long random feed. This is the third time I've seen this in the blog area, so I said something. That simple... I *know* when you don't like/agree with something you say it. So, offer me the same courtesy?

@Gerry: I think you may have confused me with someone else, I have no 3d app preference.@James: If everyone shared this sense of "posting etiquette" there would be no need of separate forums or blog areas, could just have one nice long random feed. I was addressing eb with that post...
But I was surprised to see your remark as well. I see blogs for other non-GG products appear in these blogs and pass unchallenged. Softimage is a product like them that can be used with Torque engines in the overall production pipeline. Take pureLIGHT for example. ( A fine product which I may eventually purchase. ) But, correct me if I am wrong, isn't a GG product, and hasn't been created specifically to be used with Torque3D and Torque3D alone. Why are blogs for it okay but not Softimage blogs?
And back to the birth announcement. I have no problem with seeing that in a blog instead a general talk forum ( Helps with community building for one thing ), but I don't see how an argument for its inclusion in the blogs wouldn't also apply for a Softimage announcement blog. As James pointed out there seems to a growing interest in Softimage among Torque users and any relevant information that helps one make use of it with Torque can only help that part of the community, seems to me.
It is GG's website and you can do what you want with it but maybe a clear statement on what is appropriate for blogs and what is not would help. I just don't see the logic in this particular case.

Not a federal case, certainly don't want anyone to "stop posting", and I don't speak for GarageGames in any way, just another guest with an opinion on the great GarageGames site.

I believe the unique value of the GarageGames community blog area is in sharing your own words/thoughts/work/products/games/screenshots/insight/happenings/whatever and not a copy-paste of Autodesk's patch notes. Not everyone may agree... or care. Not a federal case, certainly don't want anyone to "stop posting", and I don't speak for GarageGames in any way, just another guest with an opinion on the great GarageGames site.

I am baffled by the "3d app" comment. Seriously. I ask genuine questions without a reason to cause any issues. I like to ask questions, mildly debate and learn from other people's experience...but it seems that you guys just want to take everything I post, as bad or as inflammatory.
I just don't understand why 'healthy conversation' is severely lacking within this site most days. I simply won't post near you guys anymore if it makes you feel any better. It will make me feel better knowing that I don't have to defend myself for absolutely 'nil of a reason.
P.S. I am not sure why Gerry thinks I am trying to extend off of what I thought Josh spoke of..when it is absolutely possible for me to agree with Josh's sentiment and yet still have a question beyond the original concurrence.

My question was honest and genuine, but it seems like you guys have taken it as if it were fanboi based ..or similar ? Perhaps the word 'infatuated' was a poor choice ? idk..I am baffled by the "3d app" comment. Seriously. I ask genuine questions without a reason to cause any issues. I would say, yes it was. Made it sound like you were saying something like "Ya, enough with the XSI talk already!"
By starting your post with "Sorry James" just made it seem more likely that it wasn't meant in the nicest way. And 'if' it was nasty then of course there is more that an absolutely 'nil of a reason that someone might take issue with it.
As I said, it is merely my perception, which could be wrong, but I have seen similar from you when someone mentions certain apps. Including when I mentioned an interest in using Softimage with Zbrush. Each case taken alone seems innocent but how many times do you have to get people to explain their choice of app before you are satisfied? This is not to attack you but to explain my perception, as you seem confused by it. Maybe you are conducting a survey of such things for marketing reasons? Maybe you just choose words that make your queries seem snarky? ( Maybe I choose my words poorly as well if you think this is moving beyond the point of 'healthy conversation'? ) Maybe you could be clearer on why you want to know?
My point is:
It seemed that you were challenging James and I merely offered him my support, because I appreciate his input and also because he shouldn't have to defend his interest in Softimage.
And now I think we have got everyone reading this suitably bored and annoyed so I will say no more...
Unless you have more concerns you want addressed...
the audience starts booing and throwing rotten tomatoes

I won't be a part of this brand of behavior. I have other things I would rather do.
Associate Josh Engebretson
I see ya cross posted it to the proper forum here.
If it looks like a forum post, reads like a forum post, and IS a forum post, probably a forum post... and bumping legitimate blog posts promoting work, games, and services.
