DayOfWar Scout ship test

I see it has been a while since I posted something about my progress for my game so I am going to try and post something new at least weekly.
There actually has been a lot of improvement in my spherical terrains system.
I have spent a lot of time working on a L3DT plugin to export a "AtlasSphere" terrain and I just have a couple of minor tweaks left to do to it before it is to my liking.
The video shows a terrain created with L3DT by loading the dessert mesas preset on a 8192 X 4096 hieghtmap and then calculating the attribute , normal ,lightmap texture and alpha maps then exporting it to a AtlasSphere with my plugin,
The whole process took about 25 minutes from.

I have also restarted my website and hope to keep it up to date on everything I do with this game.

Now for the video.
This is a recent test of the scout ship. I also took a ride on some vehicles for the heck of it. Manage to get around the whole moon/asteroid a couple of times. The terrain system is coming along well I think. There is still some terrain "popping" happening every now and then but it is a simple issue to fix. The terrains texture just need to be synced a little better.

I agree, looks cool! Atlas definitely has some pretty cool features in TGEA. Great job with the sphere. Good luck with DoW!

@Javier - I was firing water seeking missile the whole time ... you just couldn't see the effect. :)

Each AtlasSphere has 6 clipmaps , so the limit on the number of planets is limited to how much video memory you have.
Typically 10 to 16 clipmaps is the norm.
I have developed it on a card with 256MB of video memory and have been able to get 3 with no problem.

@Michael - I do plan on porting to T3D as soon as I can afford to get T3D.
