Epic Failure

I had an epic hardware failure, computer died, hard drive died, completley guttered, lost work, especialy hard when others are waiting on your work, I will be in contact. This is the second time a hard drive has died on me in the space of a few months :(
I have had T3D for some time now but never really had the computer up to the job. After my epic hardware fail it was time for a new computer and the first thing I did was load up T3D and mess around with it, first time I have been able to use T3D without it crashing on me.
So I wanted to test my new computer by toying with T3D and make a video, capture, encode etc... I improved the lighting in the T3D undercity demo just to see what it can look like given some love captured and uploaded to youtube. Computer was happy, I was happy, it is good to have a machine that dont struggle. Hopefully be seeing more from me in future with T3D now I can actualy use it :)
Looks better in HD on the tube, 1280x720

I like the changes that you made to the lighting, especially enabling the smaller flare effects for the lights, it adds an extra touch to it all.
When I originally did the Undercity concept I knew it was something I would have a lot of fun with, but I never really expected that it would help out with the development of Torque3D and also provide a great test environment for people to play around in and try out the system. So seeing your video definately brought a smile to my face with regards to seeing how something so simple is something of use to all sorts of people who are working with Torque3D.

It's VERY pleasant to watch slow motion video capture.
I can take my time watching details.
With traditional high motion 'hysterical' video capture, when you 'intercept' an interesting detail, the time you focus on it, it's gone (and video compression destroys all details).

Yeah Nicolas, I did not want to make a frag movie, nice and chilled. Watch it in HD with a glass of wine :P

ando i recommend you possibly use a back up system, SVN, or even a RAID might be in order. I use a SVN so my work is virtually gaurenteed to be backup every day.

Gorgeous! Some of the shots of the lights through the fans totally remind me of the intro to Silent Hill 3.

Excellent video. This video just proved to us how important good lighting techniques are. Have you considered creating tutorials on how to achieve these types of results?

Great video, sucks about the hard drive though :(, perhaps you can send the dead harddrive to those data recovery / repair doctors?

GetDataBack
I own this program and it has saved me a bunch of times.

GetDataBack. Costs $79 and you can recover most data from a dead hard drive.GetDataBack
