Xeno Sola (Re)Launched for iPhone and iPod Touch

Xeno Sola is back! The game has a new name that was its old name.... ya!

And now for a disclaimer: I was not pleased in the slightest with the false accusations that I intended to deceive customers with its (formerly) clever name. Nor was I interested in spending money to prove that. If anyone thinks Cascadia is just north of Austria, then there are bigger issues involved than product origin confusion!

Onto the new promo video!

Version 1.1 of Xeno Sola brings no fancy feature updates. It simply does two things: it changes the fictional space station name to "Star One" and game title to "Xeno Sola"; and it uses compressed PVR files for the background, thus shrinking the game to a 3G-friendly 9MB.

Xeno Sola is a big part of the financial pie for Cascadia Games. I believe wholly that this is because it is a quality game that fills a niche and not because of any incidental or accidental affiliation with the kind folks behind the board-game with the french city name.

Here's a pie chart! (As a second disclaimer: this pie is, in fact, very small.)

I am fortunate that I had an original PC release and working prototype under the name "Xeno Sola," thus protecting myself from having to completely re-market the game. Two weeks of down time, plus pulled blogs and delayed reviews, was no fun. But I will do whatever it takes, truly warranted or not, to preserve and grow my little business!

Finally - and it seems to be available worldwide, since I can buy it :)

(You'll need to modify that pie tomorrow)
