MPGE "Alpha Project" Blog-5

Whats up guys,
After last nights "refresh" deleted post, I'm going to try this again.

Well I recently purchased MilkShape (Expired every trial version, on mulitple OS's and on 2 comps! lol) and not having to worry about the Trial version is very comforting, I've already had plenty of time to work with it but now I'm learning some of the more advanced features, mainly animating and format conversion methods... lots of fun!

I've also recently purchased two helicopters for the game, and after some conversion and modification they look good!... so good there about 25,000 polys each. (which is not so good for my low-requirements baseline.)

BUT, I will be making some serious efforts into LOD and modelling techniques to insure that the heli's get into the game and not your chipset, either way its been fun getting shot out of the sky by an AI RPG!

I've also managed to setup a Dual Project for a TMK enabled and non-TMK version that are inter-compatible for use on those super high-end computers and compatiblity on slower computers.

Vehicle list consists of:
Assault Buggy
LittleBird Heli
BlackHawk Heli

Trying to recieve usage rights for use of other vehicle models.

Weapons list consist of:
M9
Desert Eagle
Shotgun
Tactical Shotgun
Spaz-12
MP5
UZI
M4A1
G36
M16
AK47
M249
RPD
M21
SVD
RPG
FlashBang
Frag Grenade
TNT
Thanks to Bryce for Most of the weapons!(I feel obligated to give him credit for his awesome weapons, btw still waiting for more news on the Tactical AI Kit)

So far it seems my project is down to:
Need work done on the AI System
Minor Weapon and Player Tweaks
2-3 More Ground Vehicles
Turrets, AITurrets and VehicleTurrets
Minor/Major Vehicle Fixes/Features
Minor GameMode Bug Fixes
Tutorial Mission for Weapon and Vehicle Demo
Levels Re-Done and/or Polished
Check Weapons and Players for Bugs/Exploits
Check Vehicles and Levels for Bugs/Exploits
Check Console and etc. for Exploits

Ok, Ok, Sorry guys enough talking and heres some screens...
Heli Pics. (sorry for the bright-lessness, just means next blog they'll look even better! lol)

Really cool screens! The last shot reminded me of a western dusty main street scene. Great work, I really like what you did to the environment, especially considering that this is TGE!

I had wondered had this was coming along for you just the other day. Cool stuff with the dual TMK-enabled and non-TMK setup!

I never realized how many weapons I've made until you lined them up in that picture...Wow. I have way too much time on my hands...

Looking great! I'll have a TAIK blog out eventually, as soon as I get time to stick more into it :)

I appreciate the feedback guys!

@Bryce: ya it seemed like every TAIK version had new weapons, I was wondering why you didnt include them all in one version. lol

Can't wait to see a new demo, judging by your last video the AI look tactically smarter then I am, lol.

More weapons??? Bryce you continue to amaze me with your awesomeness!

I'm not sure what's been added since the last demo...I think the USP (silenced and unsilenced) and functioning M203 launcher attachment are new. Added a UMP45 today, and there's now an airstrike key :D I'm obsessive-compulsive when it comes to TAIK weapons

It's odd...If I have too many weapon images defined, I get a packet error about mounted images on mission load. I've been forced to sacrifice the G36, Uzi, and SPAS-12 to accommodate newer weapons.

You are just cranking out those weapons!

I love converting and modifying models, but I cant create (properly) or UV wrap a model for the life of me.

Airstrikes!? Oh Jebus, Stop tempting me!

P.S. How many weapons does it take for you to receive the packet error, because I havnt seen any problems yet and including vehicle, thrown and handheld weapons I think I have roughly 20 working.
