Greetings!

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is my favorite topic. I really love to make these animated shapes pretend like they can actually 'think' :)

Our GuideBot solution is in active development, and we have plans to release first public demo in a month or so.

But GAME MECHANICS KIT has a strong AI component itself.

GMK AiBot can chase, flee, strafe and attack enemy with different weapons. It can avoid obstacles - both static and dynamic. And finally it can follow paths of waypoints in various manner: in cycle, random wandering or patrol.

You can learn more from the AiBot's section of DESIGNER'S GUIDE.

New version of Game Mechanics Kit 1.2.4 has additional AI functionality:

1) Sensing - AI bot have perception system now. They can sense enemies and automatically attack them.
2) Teams - Each bot can be assigned to a team. They can fight with each other or be an ally to a player.
3) Guards - bot can be attached as guard to another bot or a player's character. So bot will follow player wherever he goes. Bot will attack every enemy of a player he mets.

I've made this video tutorial to show how easy features above can be configured with GMK editor. Hope you'll like it.

So if you are a registered user of GMK you can get it right now if you'll email me at logicking@logicking.com with subject "GMK 1.2.4". Please don't forget to write your email/account at GarageGames.com. Hopefully it will be uploaded at GG very soon and you will be able to download it from your GG account also.

If you didn't hear about GMK yet, you can learn more at GMK's Developers Store Page. The GAME MECHANICS KIT is an add-on for T3D, TGEA and TGE that allows game designers to script and edit gameplay mechanics visually, not in code. Create your game with intuitive ready-made components. With a physics pack that allows for ragdoll editing and a cut scene editor, the Game Mechanics Kit enables novice game designers to make their own rich 3D games.

Everytime I see one of these blogs about the GMK I find myself more and more intrigued and tempted by this idea of "script and edit gameplay mechanics visually, not in code".

Yes! I've been looking forward to a more advanced AI system in GMK, allways hoped you would expand it?

Regarding AI bot? what kind of price range will it be? and will current GMK owners get discounts? :)

anyway keep up the good work

It's to early to say about GuideBot's price, but indie license probably would cost a little bit higher than current GMK indie.

It's a good idea about discount for GMK owners. Anyway GuideBot will be fully compatible with GMK.

10 out of 10, great time saver and great for prototyping things out, You can always refactor the code later or rewrite from scratch once you get the game play where you want it.
