MPGE "Alpha Project" Blog-4

Well, upon much thought, (and some medical problems) I have rethought the intial idea of releasing this for free, however a reasonable price of $5-$10 will be enough to compansate for the time and money I have invested in this.

Please note I have no primary means of income and I am the primary(being only) party working on my projects, though obviously with the GG Community that means nothing... as I am extremely grateful for anyone and everyone in the GG Community!

Qouted from my reply below:
"Basically I am try to accomplish a Low-Requirements based CoD-Type Multiplayer game, I have friends that have ancient chipsets and I would like to be able to play a fun Multiplayer game with them even given the low-end chipsets that they have available.

As far as Storyline goes, there is none, mainly just SinglePlayer vs. AI, Player vs. Player or Player vs. AI games.

atm, I have these Features:
Custom Client Inventory System (decided against CoD Type unlocks)
Multi-Game Modes: DM, TDM, CTF, King of the Hill(wip) and Survival(vs. AI /wip)
15+ Firearms and Explosives (thanks to bryce!)
Medium Quality Graphics with the ability to Optimize for Low-End Chipsets"

I have had to cut back some of the features I initially wanted available due to having a working and bug-free as possible product as I can, But on the flip-side what I am working with is still a very able Multiplayer Based, Lower-Chipset Enabled and Technically Advanced Game based on the TGE1.5.2 Core

I am not completely ready for the release of "Alpha Project" as I still have some bugs that need to be worked out, but I am working extremely hard on making this product worth purchase, and I am NOT rushing by any means to accomplish this goal.

I would also like to inquire about some things:
1. Would I be able to leave the World Editor available for the Release version?(comtemplating this)
2. What would be baseline requirements for releasing a game in the GG Store?
3. Who would I contact for releasing a game in the GG Store.

I will post more Questions when I can think of them.

Sorry no screenshots, this was meant as an informative post solely, I will be posting screenshots in later blogs as I make more progress with the "Alpha Project" in terms of Level Designs and etc.

Hey CSMP,

Last time I read your blog, I saw some really cool shots! Can't wait to see what the release version looks like!

To answer your questions:
1. Yes. To my best knowledge, there are no restrictions on distributing the editor (these come with the TGE demo as well). License restrictions concerning editors only apply in Torque 3D as far as I know. You should ask Derek when you write him (see below).

2. and 3. You will need to contact Derek Bronson about that. Allow him a few days to respond. He's busy with so many new releases on the horizon. He always responds, so don't worry.

Finally, as an advice, you should introduce your project probably a bit better - what is it about, why would I want to buy it?

Alright, good luck!

Edit: Ah! The Dog beat me to it! :)

Thanks for the help guys, I still may not be releasing the WorldEditor included as I am having problems with the World Creator giving me bugs on a fairly constant basis once I have many objects on a map, though if I could fix the bug issues then including the World Editor for modders would be ideal.

lol, "introduce your project" was actually very good advice...

Basically I am try to accomplish a Low-Requirements based CoD-Type Multiplayer game, I have friends that have ancient chipsets and I would like to be able to play a fun Multiplayer game with them even given the low-end chipsets that they have available.

I will try to make things more clear in my next blog, which hopefully will be soon with actual screenshots!

Again, I am not going to rush into this, as this game will not be state-of-the-art by any means, but if I am to sell it I will try to make sure there are virtually no problems.

Edit: I am updating the Blog itself to reflect more information...
