Added a gratuitous picture - useless but... still a picture:) Couldn't add in a video demonstration (no quicktag for it). They have a great tour on the front page.

Just stumbled across this after having seen it pop up in tweet streams over the past few days. Looks pretty darned cool for what it is. The site is well done and it's super easy to use.

If you have short screen casts you want to run, I'd consider using this free tool:

www.screenr.com

I'd vote to have this added to MarkupLite (add my vote). All in one, simple, and also autopackages MP4 for download and iPhone / iPod display. Pretty neat-o, especially for quickie tutorials on Torque-ish tasks:)

** Just a guy that noticed the tool. No affiliation with Articulate.

This does look nice. I haven't tried it yet (uses Java RT), but if it works like that slick intro video says, I'd second the markup lite vote.

First screencast

Doesn't work with Chrome (my browser of choice), but worked perfectly with FF.

It worked for me with Chrome without a problem. (v2.0.172.39)

I had a 10 seconds video created and played back from the web within about 30 seconds. That's a lot better than all the recording, conversion, uploads and everything I have to go through to get a video of anything up.

It'd definitely be cool to have this in markup lite.

Cool. So simple and easy to use it was done before my morning coffee was ready!

Took only moments to get started and capture a quick video, and playback was good -- much better looking than the YouTube treatment :)

Oh, and it worked in Chrome for me too.

Super awesome! Sometimes when you need something, it just falls into your lap. I'm getting done with the initial version of a starter kit/add-on kit for TGB I've been working on and was trying to figure out the best way to put up some videos of it in action.

Worry, think, wonder, worry, ... "Steve Flowers' blog",... awesome that will work!

I've tried it out and made a very boring test video and a somewhat less boring (if you know what you're looking at) second video.
(Yes my video creation skills are less than legendary...I'm (poorly) showing the 'builder script' generator tool which I designed. It allows you to build simple to elaborate objects, click them in TGB, and generate a script for building those objects. You can that put this 'builder script' in your game scripts. I'll show more tools Sunday or Monday. For now I just wanted to test screenr.)

So, Steve, thanks a lot, great post.

PS - Use full screen if you bother to watch the vids.

Wow, Edward - that looks great at full screen. Better than I would have expected.

The five minute limit is sort of a bummer - but you'll lose interest of most folks at 3:)

Brett,

Actually it does work with chrome (at least for me), but I had to run under IE the first time to get the proper 'stuff' loaded on my machine. I'm no web guru, so I'm not sure what's going on here, but you might try using Chrome again after using IE to see what happens.

Steve,

Yeah, I'm pretty impressed with the fidelity now to get some good videos together.

I think its great for making tutorials but it doesn't have many options so by default it does not like RealTime3D.

Anybody now the keyboard shortcuts Torque3D takes the mouse and it difficult to switch in out of Torque3D and the capture app.

I think it's choking on the full screen capture. I managed to grab smaller bits ok. I got a note from one of the devs, it's 10FPS fixed. Which should be ok for tutorials. I think demo's would still be better Fraps'd.

It's good for what it's good for. Quickies.
