Cyber-Wing Singleplayer Update Vid

Hello guys!! Sorry about the long time between updates but I have been in a very heads down mode as it has been an extremely busy summer, and due to yucky-work and other obligations I have not had quite as much time as i prefer to work on the game. Excuses, excuses, onto the news.

I've been mostly focusing on the AI opponent for the game. It is a challenging task to say the least. The C-W AI must be able to manage troops, build orders and commands like an RTS but it also has to deal with flying and carrying units which is a beast.

We also have devised what I think will be a fun mission mode. I was considering a campaign, complete with dramatic story, dialogue and character art, but its not looking like im going to have any bucks to spare on character designs nor time to spare on writing and recording dialogue.

What I ended up settling on is a puzzly mission mode, where you have to fight and lead units through a predesigned map with prebuilt enemies to destroy the HQ. There are a ton of possibilities for map designers here to make fun and challenging missions so I am stoked about it.

We're going to enter the game in the IGF, I know competition is stiff but we have some secret weapons up our sleeves that we have not totally revealed yet.

Anyway check out the vid, and maybe find a friend and both of you DL the multiplayer demo and play a few games. I am sure some of you would have a blast.

Big thumbs up, mate. Looks really great! Glad I'm not the only person in the world who still thinks single player is important.

I second that!... In a single-player game you have to go all out and make it enjoyable and playable, especially with the AI and scenario scripting. In multiplayer it is just so much simpler and easier to compensate for bad gameplay through allowing people to "compete" against each other.
