So this isn't officially the first Torque 2D development blog since Michael Perry and I are at Casual Connect, setting the booth up and getting ready to make the first announcement. This is more of a sneak peak of what's to come in months ahead. I'll do a more official blog later in the week once the late night parties and discussions about "what's next in games" have died around me.

As promised, we are preparing for a big announcement today if you can make it: 2 pm US-PST at GarageGames ustream.tv Broadcast. Mich is already live streaming us at the booth, so you might catch us there all day, but if you make it at 2 pm, we'll show you some awesome work that Melv May and Phillip O'Shea have cranked out for Torque 2D.

Oh yeah, and pic, or it didn't happen:

Imagine me and Mich, and Mich and me...we're manning the GarageGames Booth at Casual Connect!

Hope you can live stream the announcement and looking forward to unveiling Torque 2D a la Torque 3D development blog style!

Nice! Looking forward to get some information about T2D.

2 pm US-PST is a bit late for me though (11pm CET), but I hope to find some videos tomorrow morning :)

Btw here's a World Clock – Time Zone Converter if someone else needs it.

*Crosses fingers for better physics!*
*Crosses fingers for not priced like T3D!*

EDIT: 3 hours, 46 minutes, 50 second!

Audio of the LiveStream is very bad.

If i understood it correctly... T2D will have Realtime Networking? Very good.

I think T2D should be free if you have T3D... Like a bundle pack...

Since they are on the same codebase, it makes sense too.

At least I hope that owners of T3D Pro and TGB Pro (iTGB which is newer than TGB Pro) will get a significant reduction as large parts of the used sources have already been payed.

But realtime networking is surely a good start altough I expected to hear more than one single little detail ...

i think T2D should be free for every TGB Pro user... since we already have the source code for the previous version, we should at least get the binary version for free when its released.

Even though "real-time networking" is a pretty big deal for T2D, the really interesting thing here is that it is "real-time networking driven through the editor and scripts!". This is totally new territory for Torque!

In other words: Realtime-WYSIWYG-Networking-Editing.

Interesting idea. Will T3D have the same workflow?
