I recently enrolled in a training course here in the U.K. that provides a course in both Game Design and Game Development. I was approved for inclusion in the Game Development course and have been spending most of my FREE time doing my studies.

During my studies however I have met a host of people who are also doing the Developer or the Designer course and we all started collaborating and talking about previous projects ... so I whipped out my POC and Prototype of Soul Wars and before I knew it I had 2 designers and 2 developers interested in joining the team.

So here we are now, at a crossroad and the Designers have been hard at work fleshing out the Game Mechanics and providing a stronger background and history to the World of Lodor. I am extremely excited at the progress that has been made and as we move forward with this I will be posting some updates regarding the awesome work that the designers are doing.

What I have learnt from all of this, is that you can't do everything by yourself (especially with a project of this type) as all you end up doing is dissapointing yourself. Now I have an awesome team behind the project and we are forging ahead.

Just an update ... the team has now grown to 8 and I have a decent back-story that I will be posting soon. :)

Thanks Yuri and Steve.

That's cool - would like to get on some training too to feed my game development enthusiasm, is it a full time course or something that would fit alongside my day job?

Well it is a Diploma that you take here in the U.K. It is a study at home course and you have to write 3 exams during the time of the course.

You can find more information at: Train2Game and it is affiliated to TIGA.

It is only U.K. though.

lol @ Steve ... the prototype seemed to generate more interest then I thought it would.

I did however run them through my "Hampston Accelerator". :)

Congrats Quinton! I wholeheartedly agree with you trusting talented people with helping in your game. Our own 17-year-old Naralos Udal has been doing such an awesome job on Xenocell that I wouldn't trade him for Sid Meyer himself. I also hope to post about his progress soon.

I'm happy to see such a fortunate turn of events for Soul Wars! Keep it up!

Oh, and use that accelerator just once more. :) Please.

The Designers have been hard at work and I have started transcribing their work to the new website.

I am slowly make the site a little more pretty as I add the content, feel free to pay the site a visit and I appreciate any feedback. :)
