Game Mechanics Kit 1.2.1 for T3D Beta 3
by Yuri Dobronravin · 07/16/2009 (9:07 am) · 24 comments

Greetings!
We are constantly trying to make GAME MECHANICS KIT as polished and bugs free as it can be.
And now I'm glad to announce the new version of GMK 1.2.1.
So if you are a registered user of GMK you can get it right now if you'll email me at logicking@logicking.com with subject "GMK 1.2.1". Please don't forget to write your email/account at GarageGames.com. Hopefully it will be uploaded at GG very soon and you will be able to download it from your GG account also.
If you didn't hear about GMK yet, you can learn more at GMK's Developers Store Page. The GAME MECHANICS KIT is an add-on for T3D, TGEA and TGE that allows game designers to script and edit gameplay mechanics visually, not in code. Create your game with intuitive ready-made components. With a physics pack that allows for ragdoll editing and a cut scene editor, the Game Mechanics Kit enables novice game designers to make their own rich 3D games.
Game Mechanics Kit v1.2.1 Features
- GMK T3D version updated to support T3D Beta 3.
Bugs fixed:
- Soft bodies client/server appearance.
- Editor 'Drop on ground' function for T3D terrain.
- Double name adding in the Event Edit window in T3D.
- 'Use' function bug for client/server (all versions).
- Irregularities with ragdoll creation on client (all versions).
You can test 'Orcs Rule' old demo game with Physics Pack and Cut-Scene Editor demonstration made with TGEA. DOWNLOAD DEMO GAME (56Mb)
We are starting to develop a new T3D and GMK powered game. And I can proudly share some art with you.

Questions are welcome! Ask right here or drop me an email at logicking@logicking.com

That looks FANTASTIC... please post more updates about your game when you can! :)

Does this mean we can use this pack to create vehicles that use continuous collision detection (if it's hooked up to say Physx) and provide appropriate collision response even when playing multiplayer?
Let me know and I'll whip out my credit card :-)

This is awesome. I read that network support is included with this kit as well. That's phenomenal! Is that artwork actually in Torque 3D or is that a pre-rendered shot?

That's an incredible looking scene up there!

Yeah, GMK Physics Pack supports rigid bodies and ragdolls network synchronization. So if you will modify stock Torque vehicle class slightly it will work with physics over the network as you said.
And also your question asked by email. GMK includes all source code with C++ and Torque script files.
@Matt Fairfax
This screenshot is not T3D but nor pre-render either. It was made with old self-made engine (2004), and uses nothing but diffuse textures and lightmaps techniques. With T3D picture should be much richer as we add normal maps and dynamic lights. We have put this geometry already in T3D using Collada, now we are working with lighting. I think I will be able to show small video T3D of this level in T3D in the nearest future.

I still don't see it yet in my products (1.2.1)
Also, when are GG going to give us (you) a forum here for GMK ?
Looking forward to more about your game, and getting my hands on
1.2.1 :D

Please drop and email to me and I'll send you a link to update.
1.2.1 isn't uploaded at GG yet.
Yeah, the forum dedicated to GMK would be a great thing. Hopefully GG create it in the near future.

nice work, 1.2.1 download is not ready yet! Do you think it will also work with T3D BETA4 ?

Thanks. To get a 1.2.1 download email me so I will send you a link.
I haven't yet checked it with Beta 4 but it should work. Maybe there has to be some little tweaks, I will check it soon.
