Hi Everybody!
Hackers Of 2073 is now for sale! You can visit Hackers Of 2073 to buy the game (for $15). There's action! There's drama! There's intrigue! (Okay, there's action and puzzles, but they are incredibly fun!)
N.R. has done an excellent job of bringing the game to life in his short story "Inside the Dweller's Sanctum".
We're selling directly on our site, but we are actively pursuing several game portal sites. One will be releasing it tomorrow!
One of the 6 password/puzzle types is called "Patterns". It tests your pattern recognition abilities. As with all of the puzzles, you collect data within a sub-network to get parts of the puzzle. In the case of this game, you collect "Requests".

On the PDA (Personal Data Assembler), you'll see "REQUESTS: 8", which means that the data you collected gave you 8 requests. You click on the square array to mark which squares you'd like information on.

Here I've marked some random squares. I tend to use "chess knight moves" for my initial spacing. Once you have used all of your Requests, you click on the "Ask" button on the PDA.

The image above shows the result of the "Ask". I don't detect any pattern here yet, so I'll go collect some more data in the sub-network.

In the above image, I got 8 more Requests and "Asked" for them. I tried to get all of the images along the bottom-left-to-top-right diagonal because the "Diamonds" were along it. I still don't see a pattern.

I only got 7 Requests in this last data grab. I'm going to clump them around the edges in the hopes that a pattern appears along here.

Whoa! Not what I expected! But looking closely, I think I detect a pattern. The "Circles" are going across the top and dropping down to the bottom on the right. This "L"-like pattern continues on inward with the "Diamonds", "Stars", "Triangles", and then repeats with "Circles" and "Diamonds" in the bottom left corner.
To test this theory, you might collect one more piece of data and make choices that challenge and support the theory. Or you might just fill in the rest of the array and give it a shot! To fill in the array, you bring your mouse over a square and select the symbol that you want to fill it in with.

Once you've filled in the array, click on the "Submit Password" button in the PDA. If you're correct, the sub-network will be completely open to you. If you fail, the security level will rise. I can see by the red border, that if we fail, we'll be chased by an Intrusion Countermeasure that will hunt you down.
Here's to hoping that we're right!
