Tutorials, beta testers and discounts

Well, we've just posted our first tutorial for pureLIGHT. Just a quick one to give a brief overview on exporting geometry from a 3D application (in this case 3DS Max) and importing into pureLIGHT. We'll be posting more in depth tutorials in the coming weeks. We are also looking for about 5 to 10 people that are willing to beta test the T3D version of pureLIGHT. This will be a short beta as we will be launching pureLIGHT when T3D ships if not a bit sooner. We'd like to have people with 3D modeling experience in the beta and preferably those that have have previous experience with a lightmapping solution. If you are interested fire me an email at davec@purelighttech.com. Lastly we'd like to announce that for the first 30 days of pureLIGHT being on sale for T3D that you can purchase it for $350. We are interested in seeing what the fantastic Torque community can do with pureLIGHT and want to make it affordable for those first brave penguins in the water.

Not that i mind if not, just that incase you dust off a old project, you think would be sweet with some nice lighting, it would be nice to know :)

@Bo, we are definitely looking into it. So far GG has really worked hard at making pureLIGHT integration as seamless as possible and if we did support any other engine we'd want the same experience. We actually have Unreal support, but you have to be a licensee because we have altered the source to import pureLIGHT resources in much the same way T3D does.

@Will, thanks for the kudos. We know what it's like to be a cash strapped start up ;)@Bo, we are definitely looking into it. BTW, is this going on sale once T3D is officially released or during Torque 3D's beta period?

I must say David that pureLIGHT is awesome. I will be picking this up without hesitation. With such an outstanding solution, I wonder how long it will be before you guys get bought out...BTW, is this going on sale once T3D is officially released or during Torque 3D's beta period?

@Marcus, we are considering getting it out before T3D ships, but we want to make sure that all our documentation is up to snuff and most of our tutorials are up.

David, what would you say to convince someone who uses Max/MentalRay to bake, to contemplate buying-in on purelight for T3D ?
I don't mean to pull your leg or anything. ;)
(I think your discount and beta testing offer is great.)

I think Purelight creates beauty and it is spot on for the needs of the core of T3D users. David, what would you say to convince someone who uses Max/MentalRay to bake, to contemplate buying-in on purelight for T3D ?

We hope to have it on sale soon. Just polishing up documents, making tutorials and squashing a few little bugs.
@James,
As long as you can output in the standard .dae (Collada) format that T3D reads you should be fine.

Nice that your offering a discount, thank you for that. I know I will be considering it at that price, sounds like a steal. Again, thanks for a great lighting system and making it a low cost product to add to T3d. Congrats on the release and best of luck with it, I hope it does well for you.
