Senior Project and Graduation!

My Senior Project was developed in 6 weeks using Torque Game Engine Advanced 1.8.1 with some of my own modifications and add-ons from the community. The idea of the game, "Silent Whispers", has been rolling around in my head for quite awhile. Being a fan of horror/survival games (I love Fatal Frame II!), I decided to use that genre for my project.

Most of the development went fairly smooth, thanks in part to the wonderful Game Mechanics Kit that really sped up A.I. and item prototyping and testing. Although there was only a short development period, the level and playability came out really well and I am going to further develop the game in hopes of an eventual release.

I have been using Torque for about 2 years now and it was great to meet some of the guys and gal's (Hey, Deborah) from Garage Games at GDC2009. I have a couple of more game ideas that I would like to flesh out in TGEA and can hopefully get them done in the next year. I'm starting my Masters Degree in July so spare time will be precious. I'm currently looking for a job in the game industry and hopefully will find that niche soon.

Now, the obligatory screen shots. I hope that I will have more blogs to come soon.

Wow, a shout-out from 3 months ago. Good to meet you in the flesh back at GDC, and also to see you digitally here. Make sure to keep GarageGames in mind for internships as you continue your education. We love interns that have worked with Torque previously. :) And if your game ever gets completely fleshed out and prototyped, make sure to send me a line sometime!
