Craziness, Mishaps, Passing, College, and More.

Well, I passed my G.E.D., got the news on May 2 2009. My next step was choosing the college that was right for me. I won’t go into a lot of detail, but as some of you may know I have really only drove truck for a living. But since I got way to many tickets no companies would hire me. So what I done was went back and studied for my G.E.D., passed it and then started looking at furthering my education.

Enter Devry, ITT, OUC, and Hocking Community College. I sorted through all of them and when it boiled down to it ITT had the most diverse program. I am majoring an associate’s degree in CNS (computer networking systems). I started my first class this past Tuesday and I can say that I am somewhat worried. I remember the day before my stomach was churning and I didn’t feel well at all. All because I was wondering if I had made the right choice, what if I am not smart enough, what if people make fun of me for being too old? All these questions were going through my mind.

Well, Tuesday came and went I am still alive and I must say that I actually had a lot of fun. My first class was problem solving. And needless to say I went into it thinking math. Well it is not just math but also problems of non math. Was I surprised.

Wednesday came and that was a big day for me too. I had 2 classes yesterday. Strategies For the Technical Professional, which when I first looked at the book I was like WTF? It does make since now since I have been in the class.

Then there was Intro to PC. God I loved this class, now were talking. I have built my own computers for a few years now so this will be an easy A. Then the instructor starts talking about binary, hexadecimal and such. Everyone in the class was looking at him like WTF is he talking about. Then we got to the lab part, now were really talking. I had fun on this I actually got to help others who were not as tech as me and it actually felt good.

Now comes the partial rebuttal. The modmakers weapon pack. I posted a bad review overall for it, but some people showed me what could be done with it. And I will say that it is a good pack now. But I still stand by the fact that the support sucks donkey butt and the people should be crucified, beat, stabbed, robbed, smacked, pillaged, and last but not least, hung up to dry. I also still stand behind the fact GG should reduce the price for this pack due to lack of support. New score 2.8/5 If you want to release a pack please stay behind it, or have the decency to release the source code if you abandon it.

Don't worry about being to old in college. I'm still in college and I love having older people in classes and here's why. Older people are there because they actually want to learn and better themselves, so they're not goofing off or disrupting class, they are attentive, well mannered and always active and helpful in completing group assignments and such.

So don't worry about being to old, most people probably won't care but there are some of us who love having older people in classes and love working with you because we are just as eager as you are to learn.

My mom went back to college while I was in high school and got her Bachelor's. She said she felt left out with my dad and all her children going onto higher education. She now teaches sixth graders and loves it!

I have a GED. Enlisted in the Air Force, finished my tour, then worked as an over-the-road driver for Werner. Went to college online partially out of the back of the truck (dig the Flying J internet).

Anyway, long story short, I'm now a lawyer.

You can make just about anything happen if you try.

So, just keep on truckin'!
