Well once again i pause development of my space sim (at least from a true sence of creating it) to 1) focus on recoding the flight dynamics. 2) start a new project called: Air Heroes : Battle of Britain.

This project is also entered into the Intel Game Demo Contest (Level Up 2009).

Game Info:

Air Heroes : Battle of Britain is a game based on World War 2. Centering around the famous air campaign of the same name. This are not your typical world war 2 Battle of Britain however. Certain aspects of the game have been changed from actual historical events to theoretical events at critical turning points in history.

In History, the Battle of Britian was won by Britian. Credit for this victory is give for two reasons; the staple of the RAAF at the time, the Proven Hawker Hurricane Aircraft, and the introduction of the All Mighty Supermarine Spitfire Aircraft.

This aspect of this major battle has been altered from historical fact for the purpose of this game series. In our version of the Battle of Britian, Germany Wins! Now you as the player have to battle back to retake the skies of London and other critical air space over Britian.

This will not be easy, the RAAF is now scattered, resources are none existant and you must rely on the good graces of Allied Forces such as the United States, and support forces in the RCAF (Royal Canadian Air Force) for planes and support air craft.

Right now i am trying to get same basic flight working where the player can takeoff, battle the enemy, then return to base and land. For the purpose of the Demo for the Intel contest the player will fly in a solo mission vs several AI enemies flying FW190's and if I have time to finish it, ME109's.

The player will fly the Supermarine Spitfire armed with 4 Browning Machine Guns (and possibly rockets, time permitting).

The Spitfire is just about done. Although I am having issues with TGEA 1.8.1 mounting the wheels to the plane and certain aspects of the script and engine code that do not wan to function yet. Like the Debri code, and the raising/lowering of the landing gear.

The flight characteristics still also need a bit more TLC and fine tuning but so far so good. Here is a couple screenshots of the Spitfire in flight in game:

Cheers all, hope you like what i am doing and suggestions are always welcome.

Till Next time.
