It was a long time coming, but vSide's tenth release is finally out the door!
Pictures > Words, so here's a few:

here's a few highlights of what's new-
(full list)
* streaming arbitrary shoutcast streams, including live user streams
- so you can play anything from http://shoutcast.com in your apartment,
as well as any youtube video
* new private space - "Club Rage"
- a large space to set up your own nightclub in
* own multiple private spaces
- previously you could only own one space at a time,
now you don't have to give up that yacht to own that nightclub !
* delegate co-hosts for your private space
- get some help to throw that party!
* drinks
- everybody loves drinks
* tons of new clothing items
- a couple hundred are user-contributed and they look great!
* shopping & closet UI improvements
- mostly making it easier to find clothing and furniture items
* share photos on facebook
- when you take a photo in the vSide client, you can now easily share it on facebook
(more features like this to come soon, for obvious reasons)
* the usual array of bugfixes and general improvements
* housebots
- you can buy mannequins to showcase your best outfits,
or some bots to help cater your party.
technical deets:
vSide is an massively multiplayer social online world for teenagers,
build on a modified TGE 1.3.5 engine with a java/hibernate/mySql backend.
more snapshots are here, or check out user-created videos by just searching youtube for "vSide"

Very much what those other virtual social worlds want to be, yet can't achieve. Great work!

Looks pretty cool. I like the cell shading style shader, makes the characters standout.

> I like the cell shading style shader, makes the characters standout.
it also nicely side-steps the issue of the uncanny valley,
which i think has helped the product immensely.
btw, clint brewer coded the fixed-pipeline cell-shading, yay clint!
