Been a very long time in the making but it's here and going... kinda.

Last Thursday I made the move to Dallas city in Texas. I'm currently living with a room mate in
Garland, Tx, actually right down the woods from ID Software studios which is cool. We have
Sick Head Games out here too which is awesome. After driving a big truck for almost 8 years, I
got the job at home Depot in Dallas Texas for a local slot working roughly 2pm daily monday thru
friday as a day cab driver so I can now work on game design at night when I come home which is cool.
I'm currently working on a car then going to find me a cheap Apt around town and then focus on gaming
as much as possible.

I have had many setbacks in the last few weeks that has blocked any action or
progress on the Beyond The Abyss game I am working on with new programmer Andrew Hull. I'm
excited to have the ground planting in the works and am hoping this move brings me that much closer
to game making here in Dallas, Tx as I feel Dallas is a serious future home of game makers of all
levels, from pros to us indie guys.

So please bear with me on the slow progress of the game, all my coming packs and such as I'm trying
to put all this together from moving from a over the road driver to a guy who now does game design at
night and has a new home life to adjust to, which is strange after being on the road almost every day
for the last 8 years now. wow, how time flies and how things change. Thanks for all your support to my friends and fans here at Garage Games, including Derek, who I wanted to stop in and meet before I got onto local work, but one day I will get my chance to journey to OR to visit the fantastic staff at Garage Games.

Wish me luck with completing the move and all those in the Dallas area are more then welcome to contact me at my home address once I get settled in my own pad later in the coming 2-3 months here in Dallas for lunch or just to hang out and talk gaming. I'm open to hanging out or whatever. Email me at will_zettler@dlsstudio.com or at my older addy: dlstorminc@yahoo.com. I'm excited by this move as it is the biggest move of my life... :-)

Type to you all soon...

You are going to soooooo love being a local driver after being an OTR driver. I did that OTR stuff for 2 years before going local. (or loco whichever the case may be)
Congrats on the new job and digs.

Thanks Mike, I really wanted to come meet you out in Cali before I stopped driving but that never happened either. Maybe some day we can meet which will be cool. I'd love to work with you on something down the road, you are a good friend and thanks for the congrats man, it has been a long time in the making :-)

I'm proud of the move, just scared cause I'm changing to something new yet exciting but I'm sure all the fun is about to begin once I get rooted in my own place. I can not wait until I get my own office space for Digital Lightstorm and we crank out some of the best games right along side ID Software here... yeah maybe that's thinking too large for an indie but hey it don't hurt to dream :-) Stay in touch Mike, put me on your msgr... magic_man4_life@yahoo.com is what I use. I use the dlstorminc@yahoo.com for email. Thanks again man!

There are also a few more studios that are part of the so called Dallas Gaming Mafia. ;)

Will, you'll have to attend Austin GDC this year since it's so close. It'll be a way to see GG without making the trip all the way out to Eugene.

@ Tom: Where are you guys located at? I'm in Garland. Would be cool to come in and see you guys sometime once I get situated in a car. E-mail me sometime and I'll swing on by.

@ Jacob: coolbeans. I'll be sure to check it out this year if I can get a day or two to get off work. Now that I'm in Dallas, I think I'm going to make a dash for all the GDC/QuakeCon events where and when I can get time to learn more. Can't wait to meet you guys. Maybe I might be able to bring down some of my Ambient Sounds packs out there to promote some. Always looking to make new contacts. Thanks for the info, looking forward to it.

Dallas thread!

We should have a mini-conference. A mini-conference is like a regular conference but focuses on gathering to eat mexican food.
