Oh cool, so everyone has a .plan :)
First about myself...
I'm 14, almost 15. I've played T2 since the day it came out, and played T1 for a long long time. I know C++ and OpenGL (No DX for me!) I live in Illinois, going to highschool downtown. My ICQ # is 17420367. Now, onto the plan!
-------------------
I've been messing around a bit with Torque for a few weeks now. Today Don and I got our heads together and got three weapons into the game. There was a lot of trial and error getting the models and MS3D exporter to do what we wanted, but we finally got it!
For those still struggling:
1) Make sure your model is aligned so the front of the model is on the red arrow.
2) Add three joints - muzzlePoint, mountPoint, and ejectPoint. Make sure mountPoint is resting on the axis plane or else you will have wierd collision problems. muzzlePoint is where the bullet/projectile comes out, mountPoint is where the right hand will hold the weapon, and ejectPoint is where the shell casing comes out through.
3) Go to file->export and export ur model :)
It's interesting how the weapon goes off screen when your standing still... guess it makes sense *shrug*
Oh and I'm working on the Total Annihilation: Close Quarters project if your wondering. Peace out!
