Diamond Raiding, updates and much regurgitations

[Fixed Links, thanks Konrad]
(Forgive me in advance for any possible bad grammar, weird structuring, spelling mistakes, odd textual turns etc)

Hey, this is my first blog post since the upgrade (and I must say, things are improving here regularly), sweet!

I also have to say that the torque 3d web demo was very impressive too! Torque 3d looks like it's gonna be a contender as was TGE when it first hit the scene (I wonder if it will be any easier to use though?) and man I can't wait to see what happens with TGB too!

Anyway, so last time I posted a blog here it was regarding my TGB game Imitate, on this occasion I'll be posting about my retro Flash game (which I think is allowed) that may become a TGB game in future (flash can't handle everything after all, but it's great for upselling download games made with great tech like torque).

So if you ever played the Atari 800 you may know what Crystal Raider is and Diamond Raider is based off it. In short the aim of the game is to raid all the diamonds in a room without being hit by a foe or hazard. You also shouldn't linger in the same room for too long or your oxygen will run out (mostly due to foe's harsh odour!).

The reason I've chosen to re-create this game is for a number of different reasons including it being one of my all time favourite classic games as well as one I've had a lot of ideas for which makes the development process a lot easier. Also for me it's the right level of learning curve, challenge and ease. Thirdly, I think it fit's perfectly into my current focus and strategy for Eternal Syndrome, I'll guess we'll see on that one.

Current working features include
* The Complete Classic gameplay mechanic
* 10 (open ended) Rooms (They'll be at least 50 on launch)
* Original levels as in the original game
* Day and Night time modes as the original
* Modern elements for the modern gamer
* 4-Slot local Profile system for saving of username, settings and hi-score
* Local hi-score for extra motivation and faithfulness to the original
* Pixel Perfect collision

I hope this reads ok and comes out human'ish, it's like 3.30am right now over here and I don't see a preview button present! Anyway, if you want to find out more, check out the link below. Needless to say I'll be trying to be a bit more regular with this because I've failed to consistently in the past thus far and I think it's good for developers to be out there not just when a games released and their wallet depends on it, but before and in the thick of it! So I'll try and keep it relevant and regular!

It's grammar.

Hehe.. Just messing with ya. At 3:30 AM, I, too, have more serious things to worry about than grammar. I'm glad if I don't miss the keyboard, let alone finding the right keys.

Diamond Raider looks pretty sweet! The full dev lab post gave me a 404, just like the Flash Games Retreat.

When it comes to 8 bit games, I'm sold right away! I wish you good luck with your game, and please keep us updated!

Thanks for that Konrad, I must have been proper mashed to not even check the links and get spelling mistakes in my spelling / grammar disclaimer, despite having a firefox spell checker installed, ouch! :S

Anyway I've fixed up the links. Thanks for the show of support too, I'm on a mission to keep updating this relevant stuff.

I'll also try to do the same where possible / valid for you guys and your projects (feedback, support etc), it certainly helps that there seems to be lot of good content being made in this significant era of indie :)

This is a chuckle. It seems to be a strange feed grab of my blog post, only as if it were translated from English to Spanish and back to English again by one of those web translator tool things :D

Quote:ironically, most of the mochi aggregation is a regurgitation of the FGL aggregation, so I stimulus enforce the seniority of this aggregation is an human as a guide regurgitation of, clearly, other regurgitations
