GDC Awesomeness (Day01)

Well day 1 was a blast.... that's why I didn't post yet. Too much going on. Didn't make it back to the room until pretty late.... those GG'ers know how to 'social network' into the wee hours. Apparently last night was just warm up for thurs. night, which is the traditional party night. Looking forward to testing that theory.

Ari "checking out" the satellite feed before the show kicks off...
We spent a good portion of the first day looking through the North Hall exhibitors. The most notable to us at BAG were all the mocap suits being demo'd. Obviously, most are out of our price range. But we were glad to see Natural Point, makers of the camera-base Optitrack system. We've been checking these guys out for awhile as they are one of the best looking low-cost mocap rigs.

We're going to sit down with these guys today and get more details.
We were wowwed by Speed Tree' s latest build....simply spledtabulous!
Let's join Rex learning more about Speed Tree 5.0.... Ask about indie pricing!

Of course, the bulk of our day was spent in the GG booth.

We were met with open arms and mad-schwag, like tee-shirts. Thanks guys, mine was getting dirty.

In conclusion, GDC is definitely a schmooze-fest, but in a good way... hell its the video game industry, you can't go wrong.
More soon,
Jondo

Yes, I want a GG T-Shirt or Hoodie too. Also by social networking, is a lot of beer involved?

And btw, in the new version of SpeedTree, trees grow balls? That's one sick picture.

Nice writeup Jondo! Make sure you continue once the party-theory tests are over! :) And btw, in the new version of SpeedTree, trees grow balls? That's one sick picture.
