You have been very productive! I have always loved cave networks in games. Actually caves in general until this one time i actually did go spelunking, its allot dirtier in real life, so ill stick to spelunking in games...

Hey Szzg007, nice to see you're back! Really cool screenshots! The cave made me remember a quest in Tabula Rasha, great work!

Looking good, but... maybe a bit less specular. The one cave system looks like a good candidate for a moist environment but some of those walls and outside rock formations have a little too much "sparkle" to them -- unless they were meant to be "wet".

I can't get that helmet from the first dude out of my mind. I like that!

HI. Michael Hall, Hi Jondo, Hi Konrad Kiss, Hi Caylo Gypsyblood,
thanks.. :D
Too much "sparkle" feeling would be too "wet", this is a good proposal. I will pay attention to adjust to amend the.

Very nice work!
As far as sparkle and wet go, my team and I were just having a conversation about that.
In my opinion a little too much is good because it really shows off the shader tech.
But in truth it has to be done very tastefully.
Sometimes it's hard to find the balance.
Keep up the good work!
Are those caves DTS (PolySoup?) or DIFF?

you see my show all levelmap is DIF.
DIF production scene, computing faster. However, the high skill level requirements.
DTS production of the same scene. Produced easily. However, the calculation engine in rendering very slow. I think we can at a special performance on the technical capacity of their own to consider.
DTS for the calculation of material SHDERT ideal as DIF
DIF suitable Rough production environment. DTS to do detailed aspects of a suitable dressing. A combination of both in a balanced manner is the best
But personally, I enjoy the pursuit of technology. (So I like to use DIF production DTS --- to show the art-loving individuals. You do not have to consider in accordance with my loving)

What kind of brush counts do you get on the dif caves ?
#11
03/16/2009 (2:19 pm)
no brush...
make dif need tools:
max7, max2map, map2dif_TGEA(3M), valve hammer editor 3.5, constructor1.05.
The following combination of the best job:
A).hammer 3.5,+ map2dif.
B).max7,+max2map,+hammer3.5,+map2dif.
C).max7,+max2map,+constructor1.05

The practical application of performance:
Calculation of the actual engine the best effect: A>B>C,
To staff the easiest way: C>B>A

my dif workflow at the moment is hammer 3.5 > constructor to lightmap and export.

No brushes in the cave ? so its mesh based dts ?
lost me, for example exporting from hammer via map2dif will give you a report saying how many brushes and zones etc, constructor leaves a text file with the report in it, something like this...
Points: 10828
Surfaces: 5997
Null Surfaces: 82
BSP Nodes: 10017
What kind of numbers do you get on the dif cave (If it is a dif and not dts) and is there alot of overlapping brushes or all hand placed so no overlaps etc...

each 'part' or 'block' etc if a .map is a 'brush', thats damn nice for a .map, did you create that with hammer or is it exported from something like max and imported into hammer ?

O... 'part' or 'block' ????...I need to think...and .thanks friend say me that...
and... ncmap03.map maybe you need user MAP2DIF.exe can exporting to ncmap03.dif or incision to exporting(map2dif has some restrictive----map2dif.exe is no steady)
