Algitt Studios LLC: Introduction!
by Stephen Scott · 02/12/2009 (7:34 pm) · 4 comments

Hello! This is going to be my introduction to the GarageGames community, since I've never blogged in all my years of lurking =).
My name is Stephen Scott, I am the Owner of Algitt Studios LLC. It's a small company I founded last year, with the express purpose of making Video Games, that have great re-playability.
I'm currently working on a 2D Casual/Puzzle game, called ManaGen. I'll post some screen shots on Monday! I'm hoping to be done on the 24th.
I'm also developing a 3D RTS, you can check out my job post on the forums. I'd like to talk more about that one, but I can't! I will update on that one as time goes. You can check out my website, www.algittstudios.com, for more information! Also feel free to ask questions, or throw me contents, I'm generally lurking on the website most hours of the day, so I should reply pretty quick (unless I'm taking a snooze).
Thanks for Reading!

Quick QA
Q: Who is Stephen Scott?
A: Pasted from the staff profiles on Algitt, "Stephen started out his long trek into the game industry at DigiPen Institute of Technology in Redmond WA in the Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Production in Animation program (what a mouthfull!). During his time there, he was the Lead Artist on the IGF entry Oneiro, as well as the Environment Artist for the Honorable league of Brutal Beatdowns, a Gauntlet Styled Beat'em up, During his tenure at DigiPen, he also worked for 3 years at InternalDrive (during the summer) teaching teens courses in Video Game Creation (2D), 3D Character Modeling in Max, Game Modding (using Unreal Tournament 3), and 3D Game Design (Using Unreal Ed 3). He started Algitt Studios in 2008 with the hopes of bringing his video game aspirations to life."
Q: Who else is part of your company?
A: I've got a 9 man team of producers/artist/hr that I want to bring on, but I can't ask them to commit to anything until I grab some funding (March!!)
Q: What kinds of platforms are you targeting?
A: Frankly it will depend on what kind of Publisher I can get a hold of, PC is the clear choice, and I'd like to branch to xbox360 after that (or instead of it we can get developer cert).
Q: So what's your role?
A: I'm an Artist by trade. I'm a Designer/Writer/Artist(2D and 3D), I've dabbled in Torque's tools (Constructor, the Terrain Editor, etc) but by no means am I an expert with them, but I'm willing and continuing to learn.

@ Kevin: Thanks! I went though a lot of iterations of the logo before I found one that I liked. Same with the website, I wanted something that was easy to edit, since I don't think its going to be the permanent design (I want to do a OnePress site, so I can build a community, and post easier), but stayed with the primary color scheme I had chosen for the company (blues, grays, black, and an accent color of orange/yellow).
