NextGen Level WIP

by Kolbasoff · 12/26/2008 (3:14 am) · 8 comments

Hi all,

there are so many cool things shown off here, so I was inspired to share some images of the level i'm currently working on. It's meant to be a constructor in gothic style. I'm thinking of selling it in a pack of several elements which can be assembled in levels for mmo/rpg. Some props will be probably also included into the pack.

I wonder if anybody is interested in such medieval interiors. Here are some screenshots.

Let me know what you think. Thanks.

Looks very nice. Maybe some chandeliers hanging about?

And those fire torches.

Looking great. I'd also find a nice rusted iron texture for your rings on the wall and for whatever lighting hardware you put in.

For your head border with the crest emblem repeated, make a new texture based off of that texture, but without the crest. A "blank" if you will. Then break the headborder brushes up on either side of the pillers and connect them with a new brush and apply the crest-less texture to it. That way you don't have the crest running halfway into the pillars.

Also, looking at your floorplan layout, you might benefit from the random dungeon generation discussion.check out(if you are have an sdk license): www.garagegames.com/mg/forums/result.thread.php?qt=81673

That's looking brilliant (which, I just realised, is a word I use far too often in comments :P). I love gothic architecture... and was about to mention the random dungeon generation that Brian linked to. That gargoyle head looks superb...
