Isometric Starter Kit Update

Hey All,
just wanted to keep you all posted as to what's going on with this project. So far everything has gone pretty smooth. Here is a list of things that are already done and ready to go.
- Camera System.
- Melee System.
- Equipment Items with Stats.
- Player Stats.
- Experience System with a graphical bar to display progess.
- Player Attribute Points awarded on level increase.
- More mountable object
- Texure Swapping based on item equipped.
So, as you can see just about everything originally planned for this kit is complete. Just one big piece missing..... The inventory System.
The inventory system is getting real close to being done. I'm about 75% of the way there already. I had to make a decision though so here it is. I will not be making the inventory system like diablo 2, this proved to be a lot of work and every approach i took didn't pan out to well. Sorry guys.
Anyway, due to taking out the diablo 2 style inventory i will try to add a few things.
- Quest system.
- New Character Model
- 3 Full sets of armor for each type (Cloth, Leather, Mail)
Again these are just maybe's so i'd like to know what you guys think about it since adding these is going to push the release back.
Ok enough with the talking...lets show the video. Sorry for the crappy quality.
ALMOST FORGOT!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

I second David's comments. I'd buy this now. If you need any testers, contact me at the email in profile :D

The question is then, would you buy it without the inventory system? If so, i'll start the testing phase today and have it ready in a week or 2.

I would, because I can write my own inventory system and have done it a few times already.

Yes, I would too

A Diablo rather than a WoW style inventory would be one of the main features I'd be looking for. Of course I'm not working on the project that needs the system, so I can afford to wait a few months and/or implement my own.

While I'd love an inventory system starter, that is something that I know I can do quite easily; especially since my systems would be closer to the Shin Megami Tensei games than Diablo.

I would like the inventory system in place and maybe the quest system but I would buy the pack as is.

Maybe do a free upgrade to the inventory system ? :) or as an enhanced version for a few extra dollars.

I think i'll just finish what i have for the inventory since it will be done tonite anyway then i can start testing.

That's a good idea there Julian. I think i'll just finish what i have for the inventory since it will be done tonite anyway then i can start testing.

I would buy it in the first case, not sure in the second...

Timothy, do you think about releasing it without inventory and quest systems but release them later for free or wiping them out of the project forever?I would buy it in the first case, not sure in the second...

If i do not add them now i will release an upgrade in the future with those features. Or maybe a couple of resources on how to add them.

I'm thinking the same as JoZ. I would buy this pack as-is if you're going to release an update for this kit. Btw nice work so far )

Nice work, and as you said; merry christmas ;)

Can't wait to play with it!

I would pick it up now whether or not you add resources to it for free or charge. As it stands, it would save me development time, which is a huge plus for me and well worth the price of admission, I'm sure. There will be pieces I will have to rework, I know, but that is the same with any add-on like this. Can't wait to play with it!

Some questions though, Is the skill system we see in the video included ? and what is the blue bar above the skill bar ? I prefer the initial inventory idea in your previous post compared to the inventory in the video...
Anyway, how would this starter kit work ? Do i add it on to my TGEA or AFX or will this be totally separate ? If its totally separate a la AFX, how do i use it together with AFX features ? Or, do i NEED to use AFX features to use it ?
Lastly, please get it out ASAP, and oh yeah, a Merry Christmas to you too !

The blue bar is the experience bar, the red portion is how much xp you currently have. As you can see from the video once you level up the garage games logo gets placed on the ground which can be changed to anything you want to happen on level up.
Yes you will need AFX with TGEA for this kit. the kit is built right into the base of AFX so you can either start there or you can merge the code you need into your own project.

@Benny, The skill system (attributes) are included. it includes STR, AGI, CON, WIS, INT. each one effects different things. STR effects your melee damage, AGI affects how much damage you take, CON raises your HP, WIS increases your mana and INT increases the spell damage. The blue bar is the experience bar, the red portion is how much xp you currently have.
