Metals Library

If you are reading this for the first time, follow this blog for some progress and a few screenshots explaining the way I worked on these materials.

43 unique standard materials with normal maps and specular. This library will give you an array of metals ready to be used in your project, for either interiors or dts shapes.

Each material has its own dts shape so you can drop the entire library in your project and look it up.

Product page. The price is 10 USD.

Any feedback or suggestions are welcome. The next pack will probably feature skins and other organic materials, followed by more standard materials (wood, plaster etc).

10th Release

The 10 USD price of this library reflects the 10th release on Editmygame.com, so I hope you will enjoy it :)

Ca-chow, if I get it right the next releases will also include car shaders :)

Fy, some of the dtscubes used as examples have the wrong bounding box (i exported a gun for testing before that) so you might experience disappearing boxes on the edges of the screen; But the materials are just fine.

Looking good! And congratulations for 10 awesome releases!

Any idea about the total possible number of material sections in the library? Or do you just plan on releasing material packs until you run out of references?

Each library release will include one set of materials (i.e. metals, wood, etc); However, there can be 2 or more metal (wood, concrete, skin) libraries, the theme is not limited per 1 release.

It is also trying to aim at shifting people's attention to this area as well as providing examples on what exactly torque can do and how to achieve it. I think this is more important than providing bare content (packs); It's also fair to share knowledge not to mention people will have the ways to customize the art for their game according to their own ideas/needs.

I think these are a great idea for texture pack. Do you have plans on a fabric texture pack? Also what about the middle east pack? I think this will make the environment material more realistic with the shaders
and give a better understand on how to use them.
thanks

The middle east pack progress is stopped for a bit but I will resume it soon; Fabrics are a 'standard' I think, from old, medieval drapes to flags or just plain modern fabrics. So yes, fabrics library is going to be a release.

Thanks. I was looking forward to purchasing it this evening, and was worried it went the way of the textures pack. :)
