Might sound like a little plug, but anyway this might be useful:

If you happen to be a game developer who is in Bangkok(Thailand) and free on November 29, 2008, we would like to invite you to the TGDXCON2008 seminar that would be hosted quite soon.

Arranged by UTCC(University of Thai Chamber of Commerce), TGDX(forums.thaigamedevx.com), and IGDA Bangkok Chapter, the Thai Game Developer Exchange Conference 2008 is a game development seminar that would be arranged at UTCC at Building 10 conference room on November 29, 2008 (Saturday) from 13:00 up to 17:15 (later if you plan to take the optional tour of the Computer Animation Lab).

There are two main session in the seminar. The first session are the featured speaker's session that would last between 13:30 to 15:45. Speakers and topics include the following:
- A Game Designer's Perspective and Postmortem on Barnyard Blast (DS)
by Polsin Plussind (Sanuk Games)
- Bring Games to the XBOX360 Platform - Discussions from the Development of Biology Battle (XBOX Live Arcade)
by Jason Swearingen (Novaleaf)
- Game production with an Agile approach
by Chanon Sajjamanochai (ViquaGames)

The second session that starts from 15:45 onwards to 17:15 will be a networking session (during coffee break), and a free tutorial/roundtable/open discussion sessions where attendees can select to join in one of the groups of discussions on various topics including "Game Design Workshop, Game Programming, Art Fundamentals for Beginners, Computer Graphics Interest Group, Media and Games, IGDA discussions, and etc." which would be lead and moderated by invited experts.

The whole seminar would be conducted in Thai (with the exception of Jason's presentation that would be translated by an interpreter). The best part about all of this is that it is totally FREE to attend :P

For more details, such as how to get there, the detailed topic, and etc. feel free to visit the website at: science.utcc.ac.th/science/tgdxcon2008/. Walk in registration is allowed, but it is recommended that you preregister at the following website: science.utcc.ac.th/science/tgdxcon2008/register/register.html.

If you need more details, feel free to contact me by email that is listed in my profile @ garagegames, or give me a local call at 086-618-9127.

There are a number of torque developers here, so if you come along don't forget to poke me so we could maybe arrange a informal Torque User's group photo :P

I've always wanted to visit Thailand. The speaker sessions sound pretty interesting. If you could post a blog again after the conference letting us know how it went, that would be cool.

I second a post mortem blog. It would be cool to hear what you guys discussed.

I'll get a post-mortem blog post up hopefully a short time after the event. Fingers crossed that I don't get any crazy tasks to do during the time after the event.

I could probably get all the slides in the event, though I'm not too sure if I could get the summary from the group discussions as we were planning that part as more of an informal setting.

If you do happen to pop by Bangkok, do send an email. A local knows the good places around town :P
