Soooooo...

I know I last posted in June that I would be done working on these soon and determine a release date for a pack. If you want to see some older pictures of the buildings check out some of my old posts.

I've done a bit more work on them since then but after the birth of my son in August my priorities changed a little bit. I'm still planning on releasing my work but I've decided to release all of it free when it's completed. So head on over to my blog at absenteden.com and check out the new screens. Be sure to book mark me because I'll be releasing the buildings very soon.

here's a sample pic from my blog absenteden.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/sci-building_preview_3.jpg

Zach, congratulations on your son! I know how priorities can change when a child is born very well. :)

I can't wait to see how the pack turns out! Will there be portals included? How about releasing a base version to the community, and a portaled version for a fee? This just looks too great to not get any help back to you financially.

It's all portal'd and all of that good stuff already. To be honest I'm just giving it away because I'm sick of toying with it lol. If someone else gets some good use out of it it will make the time I spent on them worth it.

I've got a lot of new concepts swimming in my head but I don't feel I can concentrate on anything else until I get this out to people. I'm hoping I still have some sort of future in game design. Maybe I could use these as the start of a portfolio eh?

Congrats on the birth of your son. I think a lot of people here have children. It's finding time that's the challenge isn't it? I find after about 10pm at night when all is quiet, I can get to do my game dev stuff. But it's fragmented work so a good documentation system and version control with good comments goes a long way to stay on track. Enjoy parenthood :) Oh... sci - fi interiors look sweet BTW!

Yep! Congrats man. My baby girl is turning a year old this weak.. it took a couple months to get back into the swing of things when she was born, but late nights are always my friend.

Based on screenies, I would say you have some decent talent and should pursue it. People will want to give you money.

I second Dave, you definitely should stick with this.
Nothing says more than a good portfolio, so I can see why you concentrate on actually getting things done asap. Don't worry about volume though, quality will always beat it.

I believe that you should be selling future interiors because that doesn't only get you some financial aid, it tends to lift the (already high) quality of your work even higher.

So, yes, I'd want to give you money for a content pack with interiors like these.
