Fantasci: Hidden War ...For TGEa?

by Edward · 09/20/2008 (11:39 am) · 3 comments

Wow, what impressive annoucements, TGEa for Mac, several long talked about titles reaching alpha and beta test. I am excited for the next year of Torque. Who knows if we get some more interest you will see Fantasci, converted to TGEa. It has been looked at, depending on manpower and availability of resouces.

Anyway, so What have we been up to.

i144.photobucket.com/albums/r183/racs333/tunnelsproto.jpga prototype of one of our tunnels area. Its in greenlight becuase i was using another area that happened to have them at the time. Ill get a long shot later when its all cleaned up.

i144.photobucket.com/albums/r183/racs333/atlanteanhall.jpgA empty hall in the atlantean senate. Its not populated with npcs or objects yet. but i thought that i was a good start for the senate hall (you think the romans had 100 watt lightbulbs sitting around inside?)
i144.photobucket.com/albums/r183/racs333/planetcorrection.pngId like to thank one of the resource makers here for the making of the blue marble setup, after a backport to TGE i was able to prototype the end game cinematic scene. This is the earth portion from the opening cinematic.

i144.photobucket.com/albums/r183/racs333/FantasciPost.jpgand i have been waiting for like over 7 days for the snapshot of the day to show this off in a nicer format. So since this is the my monthly blog, i felt it appropiate. Special thanks to my cg artist. and for those that dont read the FAQ for Daz or CArrera, you can use the renders for anything. Its the models themselves that are copyrighted. I had a few folks that mentioned it. Its clearly stated in the FAQ.

So Team wise, we are still looking for folks that are willing to contribute and take interest in the project on a long term basis. We have interviewed alot of folks. But what we see is disturbing, a uncanny list of folks that say they have better things and plans, then they fail miserably 6months later. Does it look like we are failing? We just have a larger scope then most project. Got any questions, want to be a artist, programmer, 2d artist, animator for Fantasci? Give me a email at racs333@hotmail.com or drop by our infosite www.fantascihiddenwar.com

Want to see something? want to ask a question or comment. Just give us a shout here!! Till next time.

You got permission to make low-poly models based on the Daz ones, right? I know someone did, and I'd like to ask them how they went about doing it.

Looks good!

Those are not ingame models, they are being considered for the cg cut scenes, you are correct you cant use the models themselves in any form but you can use them for animations and renders.

www.daz3d.com/i/faq/0?id=114&_m=d

You may:
Create still images, animations, or any other rendered output in any format for any purpose. Once you've created an image or animation, you may use it however you like. This means you can sell, give away, use in projects at work, use in greeting cards, use in personal or client websites, use in illustrations, advertisements, use to create tangible replicas, etc..

You may not:
Distribute any part or portion of the data (or "files") that you receive from DAZ as part of your purchase. You may not sell, nor give away, nor modify and then redistribute any portion of the files whatsoever. You may not use a DAZ product to create any item that competes with said product.

This is a direct cut and paste from the site. I know Foundations of Hope stated they had gotten permission to use the models. I dont know how, but im sure you could ask.

On the Subjects of models, We finally got our last collection of NPC models, allowing use to finally get rid of Kork even, in regards to player models. Certainly a nice change. Thanks Ash.
