Tell me I'm not going crazy!!

Ok, long time since I blogged here. Lots of really dull reasons, but I still read the site more than once a day :)

Anyway, I need your help!

Particularly, I'm trying to find out who did the robot designs that are literred around the GG site. There are a couple of designs in varying sizes around the images on the site (usually on various product pages), only I cant find the damn images again right now AND I have no decent size shots of them.

I need this to point to an artist for something similar, so I could really use your help in digging out the images.

If you know the images I am talking about, or did the model (GG staff? :) please post a link to the page with the image on as a reply, or let me know who did em :)

Thanks everyone. Erm. hopefully the lack of images should be made up for by the links to other images people will find :)

Phil.

Phil,

Did it look like this?

www.shapesandlines.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/propsample13.jpg
Or this ?

Or may be the older version?

If not then the I am guessing you are thinking of the bot that was originally in the TorqueX demo that Thomas b., Adam L., and I did many months ago. I think that model was ultimately released in TGEA 1.7

Hey Phil,

The WW2/Greenish Robot was concepted by Todd Pickens (above), Todd & Eric Elwell did the texture, and the model (both original and reworked) was created by Matt Ostgard.

The Robot from the Torque X demo was created by Joe Maruschak (originally created for Boomball from IGC 05). It was reworked and retextured for Torque X by Ben Chavigner last summer during his internship at GarageGames.

Probably not what you meant Phil, but this guy's sketch art dump sprang to mind. I think he's got some great designs.

Todd: I think it might have been a reworking of the one you posted. Is there a shot of the actual model on the site somewhere?

I recall the texture being a bit plain compared to the concepts. Plus there were some nobbly bits coming out of the neck area somewhere. It felt a bit more solid though.

Definitely wasnt boombot.

I cant for the life of me remember which page it was on! it was definitely one of the more arty pages though I think.

Thanks for looking guys! hope I find it again.

Phil,

There is a small shot here...

www.garagegames.com/developer/torque/images/banner_docs_art.jpg
And a couple others scattered around on the site, but I don't know where.

This small shot above is of the original version of the concept, which was never finished, but used in a lot of screen shots and what not.

The bigger images I posted initially were of the original concept painting (3 of 3) , and version two (1 of 3) which has the guide image on the left with an inset in-game render on the right. Followed by the full version two painting (2 of3).
