Hi there
Mirrored in this forum post:
I thought about this for some time now and I think is time to take matters into our own hands. Following my previous plan / pack release I decided to take the Constructor documentation one step further. The nicest thing that can happen is a complete guide to Constructor book and a fully documented TDN Constructor section. A big plan but if we don't try, well..
All you need to do is list here every issue you might have with Constructor and / or ways you bypassed known bugs and successfully exported your Interiors.
So please keep this as simple as possible and do not deviate to other topics.
The least we can achieve is share information and be aware of what Constructor can do for our projects, limits and a few tricks here and there.
So a forum about all Constructor relevant issues. Success stories and troublesome export / modeling, etc.. with Constructor stories.
As I stated before, Constructor (and dif for that matter) is often overlooked in favor of third party software or left out the pipeline altogether. In my opinion this is wrong. So let's make it right.

Thanks to Jaimi, I now have a list of all the methods that are available when developing a plugin, so I'd be more than happy to help you guys out with that. I could format the list of available methods, maybe add a few examples here and there. I'm sure Jaimi wouldn't mind - the very opposite probably. Tell me what you need me do.

Great initiative. Let me lend you a hand. I'm using constructor to develop plug-ins to procedurally generate shapes. For now, I'm still getting familiar with this, but it's really exciting!

I personally like to brush edit by hand but there are cases where plugins come in handy and that's a section I left out the Interior Guide Pack. Will make it into the full documentation.

Thanks Michael; Konrad, that thing looks really good; all you need to do is finish the plugin and post the results somewhere - either on the forum, as a blog / plan post or something; I'll just grab it and make more examples to be consistent with the rest (visually speaking, orange grid texture etc).I personally like to brush edit by hand but there are cases where plugins come in handy and that's a section I left out the Interior Guide Pack. Constructor is a great tool for artists. For the graphically challenged, like myself, the only possible way to make something even remotely usable is through programming, so I find it important, that this aspect is also paid some attention. Because we all know more or less TorqueScript, it is easier for the community in general to write plug-ins for Constructor than for any other 3rd party tool.

Alright, will do. Just for good measure, I am going to get Jaimi's permission to put the plug-in methods up in TDN while I'm finishing this. Once it's there, Michael will probably know better how to present it all.Constructor is a great tool for artists.
