Marble Blast Gold Linux Crash

so, i'm new to linux, and i might have done something wrong in the installation process. i clicked the link on the website, it downloaded and automatically installed. I couldnt find a link to MBG anywhere so i found the folder it installed to and tried exicuting some of the files. the most i could get to happen was a black screen (windowed)popped up for about a second then closed out.

I'm running Ubuntu 8.04
Asus eee 900

900 mhz
1gb ram
