I needed to add an antagonist to the mix as it was pointless to have lives but nothing to lose them to except for to lava or extremely long falls. I used some traps form ed maurinas book as a filler but they didnt seem to add to teh ambience other thent he cannon, but that only shot in a straight line and was a pain to implement as you had to figure out the alignment and it limited the movement of the level. Now with the turrets I can drop and run and not have to worry about any coding to get it working and the turrets have a collision so you can fight back, so you have the option of leaving them or if you must destroy it to get by.
I plan to add a score feedback to destroying them so it could pay to get them. The score factor will add to replay (I hope) by giving you options to either run straight thru for low score or go for all the items and see how high of a score you can get. Later I may add a cental web site so you can compare scores with a database of players.
Next i will texture this turret and try to create a few more with different firing schemes, right now I have bubbles, maybe rockets. So I will try to make some other ones like fire and so on..
Then I need to wrap up the final levels, only like 5-6 left and then go thru and fine tune the levels with filler, like decorations and things..
That has been the longest part.. getting all the shapes done and making them look right.. :)
Again thanks for the comments and checking out the videos.. I have about 70 views already just in the last 24 hours :)
and if you like the game then join the vimeo group as I will be adding videos as I go to show my progress..
and maybe get a chance to play the final version before it goes live :)
