IndieZen Radio Update

So it has been a while since I posted anything about what we are doing at IndieZen Radio. We have started to implement news. Michelle "Badazz" Thompson and Tyler "Chokobo" Schmidtbauer have been doing an awesome job with that which is definitely a great thing and over the weekend we have been implementing what we, or more they, call the Weekly Wrap up. The wrap up is a run down of all the news and we have various guests on the show discussing their view on what happened. I plan to make it a podcast as well so it will be downloadable after first airing.

Dave "Beowulf" Mac has started doing some interviews. The first person interviewed was Edward "racs333" Moyer and his project Fantasci: Hidden War. We also have Jeff Faust, creator of AFX for Torque, lined up for an interview. In addition to that we will be interviewing a few independent musicians and other developers. If you are interested in getting interviewed there is a link under "Work With Us" menu that will allow you to submit yourself. We will get you interviewed as soon as possible.

While I am on the subject of site modifications, we have added several new features to the site. Just to name a couple is the "Submit Indie Band"and "Submit Game For Review" both listed under "Work With Us Menu".

Game for review will be a couple of us on the staff looking over your game playing it and seeing how we like it. We will then get together and go over the game and create a review about it that we will play over the radio as well as send you a copy of it. I hope to get a few different people reviewing the games to create a panel of experienced gamers, developers, modelers/artists so that not only can we review your game but also suggest possibly fixes/changes to make you game the best it can be.

Though the Submit Indie Band seems pretty much straight forward I am still going to bore you with some details. Inside it you have the option of submitting your music via an upload option. You can only upload MP3's and if you do upload music you are giving us your permission to play it across the radio royalty free. In return we promote you through the song as well as giving you credit after its played.

Now since we have implemented news we would love to have you tell us what is going on with you as well. Under the "News" menu you will see a link called "Submit News" once you fill that out it will dispatch an email to all of us on the news team here at IndieZen Radio and we will then include it on the next newscast. If the news is deemed something we won't air we will send you an reply telling you why not. Don't be afraid to submit news items cause we are pretty open to what we play. If you have sources we would appreciate you citing them when you submit the news.

If you are interested in networking with us we have a Facebook Group , MySpace Page. Check them out and meet other community members. Also get updates from us via Twitter.

Well I think that about covers everything we have been up to in the past couple of weeks. If you have any questions feel free to post them as a comment, visible only if your logged in, or visit our forums and post it there.

Well rereading this there is somethings I wanted to edit back in but I figured I would just add this at the end and not try fuddling with everything else. I want to apologize to Red Hill Games. Since IndieZen Radio started they have been talking with me and though there have been attempts to get an interview done with those folks about their game 3d RC Racing due to technical and operator errors we have lost the media. They have been patient with us and I am more than a little unhappy with myself for forgetting to give them credit this morning.

I want to thank Drew Sikora, Executive Producer at GameDev.net, for all the help he has provided since I first talked with him. He has been a good source for knowledge and direction for things to do with the radio and I am definitely grateful for all the assistance.

I want to thank all the people that have been volunteering their time and effort to help make IndieZen Radio work. Much of it has been more than they can really afford to do but they see the potential of IndieZen Radio and they have decided its worthy of sparing what few extra moments they have into making sure it gets the best attention and boost it can. These folks are the lifeblood of the radio and without them I surely wouldn't be at the mile marker I am at now.

I also want to thank all the independent musicians that have said they are willing to let us play their music over the radio. You will start seeing us migrate from the amount of mainstream music we have been beta testing with into more indie music much with a game style flair. So tune in and you might be surprised at what you find we have changed.

Pretty cool that indiezen is doing interviews and news now. Any chance you can post the times/dates of upcoming interviews somewhere on the site?
