Solar Battles Update (Video & Screenshots)

by James Laker (BurNinG) · 12/10/2007 (1:44 pm) · 18 comments

Just a fast update.

I quickly made a video for a friend of mine to show him the Scout Ship in Solar Battles, so I thought I'll share with you guys. The quality isnt great, but you'll get the idea.

I'll upload a video of the ships as I finish them, showing off what they do, and their roles.

Here are some screenshots I have of the game play. There is still alot to be done though, but I'm getting there.

The Interceptor, the second fastest ship after the Scout.

A Interceptor going through mid battle (stupid :P):

The Scout after locking its prey:

The next ship I'll be working on it the Drone ship... Look out for the screenshots :)

EDIT: I'm looking for people who feel comfortable with Contructor (in TGEA). Contact me for more information.

Hehe... It is pretty hard tbh. A LOT easier than a month ago. But the Scout still needs some serious tweaking too (too fast atm)

I'll try to implement a 3d kinda radar soon since the flat 2d radar is the thing I've received the most complains about after the controls.

I need to get all the ships in before I go on holiday first though.

Thats very cool! Yeah I could see the scout being a little fast. Will there be a temp boost for the crafts? Maybe that speed you have it set to now would be the high temp speed boost. Very good lucking stuff. Do you have a musician yet?

Moldel pack is one of the very best I've seen and video looks very good, there is a lot of potential in this one.

Thanx guys.

The Afterburner/Boost/Jetting uses your energy (2 bar from the top, on left), and so does your secondary fire. So you'll need to save some energy if you want to use your ship's specialised secondary weapon. In the case of the Scout it is dropping bombs (4-5). So if you've used too much energy, your not going to cause maximum damage, since you'll drop less.

Expect a blog with some more info soon. It's coming along very nicely imo. I've made alot of progress. Busy redoing the Option GUI (settings), Multiplayer GUI, Start Server Gui. Just got myself Tims Building Pack for Some Space structures, so I'll be testing that out today.

If anyone is interested, I need some help and community input as per this thread.
