For the first time in a long time ive actually had a chance to work on a few things. Working two jobs is not fun. :(
Anyways, a few months ago or so i started working on something i called FileShare. It was supposed to be basically a file library for groups of people or indie's that needed to share files with their co-workers or whatever, and have a checkin checkout system. Ive since then changed the name to the Port. What it has now is more staff features. You can set 3 different levels for your staff, and allow them to do different things. There is a section for each department with information that can be left by the department head on the agenda for the week/day or notes. Each staff member is automatically directed to their department page, so there isnt other staff members worrying about what people are doing in another department.
Also, there is a better admin section, where people ranked admin can add new members without going into phpmyadmin or anything, and can edit members personal info, level, and department. I also went ahead and made a simple member cp section, so staff can update their address, email, ect themselves.
I tweaked a few things like the checkin system, to make it more secure and so people cant break it as easily as well. The Port really isnt a flashy type system, being that i cant do web graphics very well, but it does get the job done. And i'll be the first to admit, i didnt make the best scripted staff tool out there, but again, it does do the job, and it makes it alot easier to have sometimes, for me and my group anyways. Ill be adding more things to this when i get more time, to make it even easier to deal with staff that may be all over the country or whatnot. If anyones interested in trying it out lemme know by email, i wouldnt mind getting a few testers to see how it works for other people.
Im also working on something where you can put one simple script on a webpage, set up your config for your database, and add some files, so you can edit each page's text by simply hitting edit, or add if there is no text on the page yet. Right now i have a script for that that works fine, but im going to work on making a whole section with UI and all, where it lists each page, and you can go edit everything "behind the scenes", without actually going to the page. I'm also working on adding a few things in like putting pictures in as well through the database, bla bla bla things like that.
I keep rambling on, its 1am and im bored. xD
We've also added a new member to the ekosoft team, so hopefully graphics will start rolling soon for Relic Online. At least the concept art for now anyways.
Well...i guess thats all i have...t'ill next time!
