Plan for Justin Mette

The title says it all. Dave, Ryan, and I have been engaging the V12 engine in creating the first phase of Myrmidon all week long. Here are a list of things we have been working on over the past week:

(*) SourceSafe has been established for the Myrmidon project. This allows us to finally have a source control system to keep track of all the changes we have been making. We are currently evaluating SourceSafe Offsite, which is a product that allows secure internet access to the SS database.

(*) The initial Myrmidon project has been created based on the V12 Test application shipped with the SDK. All references to V12 have been stripped out and replaced accordingly. This new project forms the baseline in the source control system.

(*) Dave has been working on a "strip" compass for the HUD. This type of compass is rectangular in shape and "slides" from left to right as your rotation vector changes. This is a much more compact HUD control than the large circle seen in other games.

(*) Ryan has been working on a new startup screen and "inner lobby" for Myrmidon. The inner lobby is a place where players can chat, enter the mission, or return to the start-up screen.

(*) Justin has been working on enhancing the third-person camera view in the V12 Engine. The first iteration of this camera includes a controlable "orbit" camera along with zoom capabilities. A tutorial has been created demonstrating work so far.

(*) General participation in the V12 forums. It is important for our team to work with the community in answering questions and posing new ones.

(*) 21-6 forum discussions have been light this week due to the V12 Engine work going on. The only topic really discussed this week was the storyline to describe how a player enters and leaves a mission.

(*) Placed an add on many game development boards (including GG) for an artist position on the 21-6 team.

As we move into this next week, here are a few things we will be working on:

(*) Dave is starting to investigate object selection with the mouse on the main playGui view.

(*) Ryan is going to be wrapping up the Inner Lobby.

(*) Justin is going to finish the camera features rqeuested for Phase One of Myrmidon. A tutorial should follow soon after the final release of the camera code.

(*) Continue looking for an artistic addition to the 21-6 team.

(*) Participate in the V12 and 21-6 forums.
